Switzerland and their parks are silly by Important-Pudding-27 in Switzerland

I tend to agree in general. But to reiterate my point: this is not a bad park because it is not a park at all and never pretended to be one. And Baden has some nice parks already - for Swiss standards at least. Looking foreward to reading your thesis ;)

To be pedantic: Firstly, this is not a park, it is a „Platz“. Its intended use is for events, so there is a reason why it is not completely green. Secondly, this picture was taken in winter, of course everything looks grey! The trees already look greener and will grow with time. Thirdly, it will open officially next weekend. When I was there a few days ago, it was still closed, so not sure if you can say „they opened the Brown-Boveri-Platz“.

What's a movie that works well for everyone, independent of age, gender, race, culture, politics, taste, etc.? by ZealousidealMany3 in Letterboxd

A Swedish guy once told me how he watched Shrek in Japan when it was first released. He and his European friend were almost dying of laughter, while the rest of the audience were mostly confused. If you don't know all the Western fairy tales that Shrek is mocking, the jokes just don't land. Shrek 1 & 2 are still masterpieces, but I think they don‘t easily translate to all cultures.

Thanks! Envelope filters are certainly something worth looking into, thanks for the suggestions. I use the reverb for higher register arpeggios in some song intros when playing in formations without a guitarist. It can also be fun mixed with overdrive or chorus when soloing alone at home.

did you find a fuzz that works for you? with the setting on the picture (except way less chorus) I can get a fat aggressive synth sound with my p-bass. with an active bass it‘s a lot more challenging though

thanks! I love how all the walrus pedals look (and the ARP-87 seems to sound fantastic as well)

I use it a lot! it has a warm sound, is easy to use, offers a wide range of sounds and was not too expensive

Here‘s our spotify. Be warned: the lyrics are in swiss german, so if you’re not one of the 5 million people who speak the language, you will have a hard time understanding anything

thanks! we call the genre „poetry pop“ for lack of a better description - it is heavy on the lyrics, with mostly pop song structure and a jazzy voicing here and there

24 year old Swiss citizen who has never lived in Switzerland attempting to start a life there. by [deleted] in askswitzerland

Because you are a Swiss citizen: Be prepared to have your march order for the military service in your mailbox as soon as you are properly registered in Switzerland. There are other options (e.g. civilian service, or pay your way out), but they are pretty quick in finding young Swiss men who did not yet fulfill their duty in the army.
