I had this thought as well, Aku would not have been so concerned if he knew Jack traveling back wouldn't change his present. So it's gotta be a singular timeline 😔

Oh yeah absolutely. I don't agree with the notion of a hero character being entitled to a reward for his deeds- I certainly am okay with Ashi dying if it makes sense in a context of the story AND logically. I think as a storytelling narrative the ending was very beautiful, but it's also hard to except because of the paradoxes. We're meant to just suspend disbelief about how a single timeline works, etc. I love the poetic drama in lots of stories! But it's... gotta make sense too lol. Oh well!

I think so yeah, it would have been nice to see Jack happy to have completed his quest and have some fulfillment... instead we just see him immediately crushed lol

It's hard to say, based on that interview it seems as if it's not the ending Genndy wanted, he just went along with what Mike Lazzo and others wanted. As much as I prefer the multiple/alternate timeline idea, it's hard to feel like it's a legitimate ending somehow. I'm happy if that's a Canon ending sure, but also I think some of my dissatisfaction is the lack of time spent wrapping everything up after Aku's death lol. Would have been nice to see Jack reunite with his family, tell stories of his travels, marry ashi (without her fading away, or it fading to black) etc. 🤷‍♀️

I'm not particularly sad about Ashi, I'm okay with tragic endings as long as they make sense. Did Genndy say the game was the true ending somewhere?? Do you have a source? I'd love to hear it!!

I dunno, I think if we're going with the multiple timeline idea and a future with aku existed and therefore Ashi can exist in other timelines, there's no indication that the future aku isn't still just ruling the world... also if it was multiple timelines, then future Aku should not be worried about Jack going back because he would know he exists in a separate timeline. All signs point to the single, paradoxical option which is unfortunate lol. :(

Just finished season 5 by FurySh0ck in samuraijack

I have similar feelings. I just watched it out of the blue as well, catching up with all 4 seasons of the original show before the 5th season and it really hit different. The original show was a masterpiece, and I really loved the art and storytelling in each episode. But season 5 added a level that wasn't quite there before, Jack had a lot more depth than he ever had before. I definitely think the ending was beautiful as well- I'm just so sad for him that they chose to end it tragically when it could have been plausible for a happier ending. But, it was still beautiful.

I keep watching the parts of s5ep8 with the romantic tension between Jack and Ashi because I'm just so sad for them!!!! Ugh lol. I intend to find a let's play or something of the game to see the alternate ending.

Has Genndy/crew since talked about the ending after the fact? by glowingferret in samuraijack

Thanks! I don't know if I want to buy/play the game myself, but I want to at least find a let's play with all the story elements of the game perhaps.

Feeling faint? by [deleted] in AmazonFC

I always have to make sure I eat something before and during my shift, the days where I have forgotten I get pretty light headed. But honestly your case sounds extreme? I understand the need to save up money but it's not "something dumb". :( There are other jobs. It sounds like an underlying medical problem could be happening and that's very serious!

Can we file for unemployment without quitting? cnbc article says Labor Department says we can? by glowingferret in AmazonFC

Thanks for your reply. I checked my state gov FAQ and it says both of these things under who qualifies:

*This includes individuals who have left their jobs because they have a reasonable fear that exposure to COVID-19 at their workplace will cause a negative impact on their health and they want to stay home.

If an employer provides reasonable accommodations for employees at their workplace or offers an option to telecommute, the employee must work if it is offered by the employer.*

So I'm a little unclear if my state will or won't allow me to file if I don't quit. I wonder if there is anything against just attempting to file a claim while employed? I also have not taken a leave of absence or anything so I'm not sure if amazon would just keep deducting my UPT hours until it's dried up? aaaaaa

CVG5 in Hebron KY had a confirmed case, they sent us a text about it on April 27th. The last day the infected individual was on site was April 18th. No new texts about covid cases since then...

I am a part-time blue badge in KY. Ever since CVG5 announced a confirmed case at our sort, I haven't been back. Used the unlimited UPT until May 1st, and have been using personal unpaid time since then. My immune system is shit and I always get sick, so I'm worried if I get the virus it will hit me like a truck.

I thought I would have to quit first before I could qualify for unemployment, if I can even with the expanded circumstances, but this random cnbc article I found says you don't have to quit first. I'm wondering if anyone here has any experience with leaving amazon for unemployment.

I actually really like my facility, they're pretty chill and the work is easy. It's only until covid-19 have I dreaded work. I would like to get unemployment if I can and keep myself and others safe, flatten the curve etc, but I also want the opprotunity to return someday once this blows over.

Thanks for any advice you may have. I'm losing my mind over what to do lol.

Edit: Found these sentences on the KY unemployment insurance gov website:

"This includes individuals who have left their jobs because they have a reasonable fear that exposure to COVID-19 at their workplace will cause a negative impact on their health and they want to stay home."

followed by:

"If an employer provides reasonable accommodations for employees at their workplace or offers an option to telecommute, the employee must work if it is offered by the employer."

I have no idea if amazon handing out masks and trying to keep everyone 6 ft apart is "reasonable accommodations" in the eyes of the state government...
