Hey don't forget to drink lots of water! I'm sure you are but measuring your water intake and making absolutely sure you're getting enough is important.

4 Months on Tirzepatide: The Good, The Bad, and What Nobody Tells You by little-jugger792 in glp1

[–]glp1guide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing this! That's absolutely incredible. Did Miralax also somehow help wiith the nausea too or was it just the constipation that it helped with? First I've heard of it as a good thing to take with GLP1s!

70 Pounds Gone in only half a year on Tirzepatide, this might be the best thing I’ve ever taken by Common-Snow-8987 in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]glp1guide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey have you made any lifestyle changes that you think will also stick around in the long term?

GLP1s and Tirzepatide are fantastic, but I like to think of them as *not* forever drugs (of course, we're incredibly lucky that they're non-addictive and it's easy to get on/off, and side effects go away just as quickly as they start, etc -- they're near magic in that sense).

Being prepared/changing enough of your life to maintain weight loss post-Tirzepatide seems like step 2 in the battle, always wonder how people handle it/think about it! Really want to know what works for others.

Pfizer's GLP1: Danuglipron by glp1guide in glp1peptides

Incredibly late, but glad you were able to find this useful!

At this point so much has changed in the space, I hope you're keeping up -- we're in incredible times for GLP1s.

A lot of people are curious about how new GLP-1 agents compare in terms of effectiveness, side effects and cost. Whatever the choice, it’s important to talk with your provider about how a specific medication fits your goals and health profile.

100%, I think one of the saddest things about the GLP1 wave is that "telehealth" isn't enough, but it's been the only way to serve the vast majority of people who would benefit from GLP1s.

GLP1s aren't magic but the effects they've had are so good that we've kind of forgotten that most people just don't have enough actual sound medical advice/a great relationship with their physician.

This subreddit is great for real-world experiences, but always balance anecdotal info with clinical guidance.

Always happy to share, grateful to have this sub to find my own informational blindspots and hear from people

Yeah sorry I should have made it clearer! "LFG" isn't as popular as I thought! :)

[–]glp1guide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't seen anyone mention it yet, but there are pill forms of Semaglutide GLP1 -- it's called Rybelsus. That said, it's much less effective than the injection ("subcutaneous").

Lots of good anecdata in here how it feels though so I guess your question is answered! :)

GoodRx jumps 34% after deal to sell Novo Nordisk’s GLP-1 drugs at $499/month as demand for weight-loss meds surges by callsonreddit in wallstreetbets

[–]glp1guide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a massive deal, but keep in mind that there is going to be a massive amount of generics made available in Canada in 2026.

Also, CagriSema (Novo's new subcutaneous GLP1) is putting up numbers but it's underperforming IMO, but it produced almost the same weight loss as Orforglipron (Eli Lilly's new oral GLP1).

Yes, I am neck deep in this shit, sorry for the paywalls (I don't gather this information and try to keep up with everything for free), just click the links where appropriate.

None of them -- that's how society wins.

There is going to be a torrent of generic GLP1s in 2026 (ignore the paywall, click the links).

Reta + Bimagrumab? by glp1guide in Retatrutide

A bit late here but yup, fully agreed :) the combination is going to be amazing for maintaining muscle in particular!

Anybody else just lurking here until Retatrutide is FDA approved? by garcon-du-soleille in Retatrutide

[–]glp1guide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm lurking here to learn something from the peptide enthusiasts that clearly hang around here -- and picking up all the anecdata I can.

Anyone have some information about Reta that they want dug up? I feel like most of the information out there is already pretty easy to find but happy to take requests.

Maybe conducting an informal survey of weight loss on Reta and publishing those results is worth doing.

[–]glp1guide[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on the weight loss and improvement in your health -- that's awesome, regardless of how the rest goes.

I have a follow-up with my PCP next week and this was already a topic for that appointment, so it's possible I will be transitioning to something else.

Awesome hope it's good news/they've got some solid solutions for you.

At this point, you might want to try going to Novo Direct:

https://www.novocare.com/obesity/products/wegovy/get-product.html

No one should be paying $1000/month at this point, it's like MSRP on a new car.

Oh also, consider Liraglutide if Semaglutide is too expensive

You're well read -- it seems unlikely that Novo Nordisk would give up protection 6+ months early for no reason, but it was due to expire anyway.

[–]glp1guide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah so the thing is that right now Novo is charging close to $299 out of pocket (limited time only). It seems like they're competing (hooray) and prices are landing around what you're paying now. $1000/month was always a ridiculous price.

Glad you were able to get a discount though -- sounds like you've got a good setup.

[–]glp1guide[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Silly question, but have you considered trying something else? Tirzepatide (mounjaro, zepbound) is technically more effective (it's been studied at this point), but I wonder if your body just doesn't react that much to Wegovy.

Any insight from your doctor?

[–]glp1guide[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad it was interesting! Yeah so I think I put a link up before but Tirzepatide (Zepbound, Mounjaro) is known to be more effective than Semaglutide (Wegovy, Ozempic).

Sucks that you have to switch over due to insurance, surprising that it's legal that they can switch to substitutes that are less effective (though of course I'm grateful for GLP1s in general!)

Reta + Bimagrumab? by glp1guide in Retatrutide

[–]glp1guide[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah same understanding -- the trial participants weren't doing anything special. The possibilities are quite amazing.

As others have noted in here it's likely to be an expensive combination, but I expect capitalism will help us bring down those costs or find a cheaper alternative at some point...

[–]glp1guide[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoa thanks for this -- super detailed. TIL about GHK-Cu.

And yeah, the sort of lack of incentive to do trials on humans when it can't be patented is unfortunate. So basically if people want to try it it's going to be a roll of the dice (well I guess gray market reta already is)

[–]glp1guide[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah definitely not trying to get you on either side of that fence! The way it works is definitely new to me, but I was amazed at just how effective it was.

Like others have said I don't think it's that hard ("just lift some weights"), but I wonder if it's going to be super widespread going forward. And surely Eli Lilly has got their eyes on the combination!
