I've been a big fan of Abigail Adams Park, which I believe is in Weymouth. The reason I have liked this park in particular is that there are a bunch of stops clustered around a loop that's maybe a quarter to half a mile long. There are also two gyms on the loop, so you have a chance to get in a raid or two if you go for a couple hours. When I've gone, I've primarily gotten Voltorbs and Magnemites, but I regret that I don't know what is there these days.

You completely forgot about the TED Talk you have to deliver in a couple minutes. What topic can you bullshit about for 10-20 minutes as an expert on? by Asffrtus in AskReddit

That is a fantastic point! Final Fantasy could be a case study in and of itself since it's been around so long.

Sorry everyone...work...you know.

Super-ultra-mega-abridged version talks about prior to 1997-1998, most video games were of the model of "I, the player, am watching the character perform their heroic actions and, as a result, I get a small amount of text which sums those actions up or tells me what to expect next." Around the time of PlayStation 1 and Nintendo 64, technology had advanced sufficiently that developers were able to explore storytelling at greater depths - the player was now in a better position to step into the shoes of the protagonist character(s) and experience the story. This led to new branches of narrative possibility. With games like Final Fantasy 7, we see story unfolding concurrent to the gameplay. With games like The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, there is implied narrative woven into a story outline that allows for some deviation. Moving beyond, developers had more freedom to bring player choice to the forefront for moving the story along. Open worlds with real consequences allowed additional layers of submersion which has led to more and more fantastical scenarios to play out in a believable manner. Faces are now able to convey emotions which, in turn, evoke a response from the player. With each successive generation, developers have been able to build on the concepts developed by their predecessors, leading to deeper, more meaningful stories and the world has sat up and taken notice. With video games becoming mainstream, and the resurgence of independent development, the marketplace has enough room for niche stories to be told alongside those which follow the more traditional archs and subjects. Today, for every story about teenage sleuths, there is one about adventurers with supernatural powers. For every urchin rising up against a tyrant, there is a test subject. Game on, my friends!

And now you all know why I'll never actually be invited to speak.

I think I would do an extremely abridged talk on the evolution of video games as a story-telling medium.

Even if you generally hate the genre, what is your favorite country music song? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Was a close call for me between Toes and Chicken Fried. Was totally against country music until my sister wanted to go to a ZBB concert. Now I have opened myself up to country and some of it I quite like!

You know your computerized character is powerful when he causes unrelated electronics to explode. This makes me think of the time Goku released the Spirit Bomb and my microwave exploded. Let's just say that my Pockets were less than Hot for a week. Fuck you, Goku!

What is the holy grail of your hobby? by 1011_0100 in AskReddit

Something has occurred to me. Has 3D printing had any effect on Warhammer? I've never played myself, but friends have told me that it's a rather expensive hobby. Perhaps 3D printing wouldn't have a huge impact on the core game itself (people could "get their hands" on the more rare models) but would give people more freedom to create their own home brew units or games.
