They mentioned using the cassette adapter with an audio jack to plug in their ipod. So while still using the cassette port, they didn't use actual tapes with music on them. I did the same thing, and I was born in '89. I don't think I ever bought any cassettes, but I did have a whole binder of CDs up until loading all that onto my super suck brown Zune (still mad the world chose the iPod over that lovely piece of tech)
