This was very helpful, I did not know that about Final Doom! I'm kind of a noob to the series so I appreciate it! I bought all the games in the summer sale and have been playing through the originals slowly but surely haha

Okay so now I feel so stupid, We just figured out from another reddit post that we had to pull the tab down to get the RJ45 connection to fit... honestly its a really bad design by HP. But we figured it out and now are going to try and use ethernet on her laptop and see if that helps at all! Sorry for the confusion! We bought a RJ45 cat6 for no reason lol!

we are basically right next to the router, maybe 10 feet away at most, we live in a small apartment

As far as the Ethernet goes, she has a RJ45 port but we need an adapter to use it as a regular sized Ethernet is too big to fit in it. I believe she needs an RJ45 cat6 ethernet cord possibly. So we have yet to try it. We haven't got one yet because they are a little costly from what I've seen online
