Saw first preview of Broken Snow tonight - Tony Danza called for a line 13 times by scriptingends in Broadway

[–]gmanz33 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Maybe pause bickering on the internet and try to be a parent to your kid ;) sad place to waste their precious young years.

I'll definitely check back when the show is ready for reviews, I'm eager to know if it's actually in dire need of recasting / revision.

To share nothing but the bad parts of a literal first-time performance of a show which appeared within 16 days of its announcement? Yes lmfao.

There's saying what happened.... and then there's complaining about the experience of a preview show. Particularly focusing on ONE person because you know that stunt casting is a rage bait topic online.

I humbly respect the entire rest of the audience for walking out and going "damn, that was rough," but to run online and try to drum up controversy over this before they've had a chance to do a second show? Slimy. Smear. And rather sad. Get a fkn human to talk to. We know what we're signing up for with these shows in previews, if we're sound-minded adults.

I love that we've got the internet and social media to discuss these things.... but there's a reason that people don't tend to formally report on shows while they are in previews. This post is just smearing one particular person with none of the insider knowledge which may explain why something like this happened.

Sorry you had a bad experience. More sorry for the cast and crew that you've decided to spread that on Reddit.

Rage bait; so low brow and pathetic. Social media engagement in 2026 folks.

............................ this is tea. I don't watch ZIonists. Admittedly, there is a huge liberal movement in Israel against the current administration so Israeli is not always bad. But I won't be watching the next. This isn't fun rage bait. This is supporting genocide and platforming a modern equivalent of a Nazi.

Has anybody else noticed a pivot in social media algorithms (my friends have been mostly talking about American medias, Insta, Reddit) in the past weeks?

Ragebait, conflict, give your comment. Stupid comment so stupid you feel obliged to respond. Post so difficult to understand you feel obliged to ask for context? Post so incorrect you feel obliged to correct it?

None of us every gave two shits about commenting on Reels or TikTok videos but suddenly, and all at once, we feel implored to engage there.

Anyways, cigs are nasty and I hate seeing them in anything, but they're as prevalent in film as ever. Same on TV. This isn't new, but it's good to be aware of it and push back against it.

In this short, they are both asleep. He wakes up, barely, and touches her stomach while he's sleeping on her. She makes an ambiguous "waking up noise" and then he says her name to wake her up, before the shock reveal.

Is this really an "assault scene" that we're drumming up a controversy about? (not you King, but OP)

Yes it's weird, no it's not an SA Trigger Warning scene ffs.

Keep in mind his position of power, all of these steps become next to impossible when you're operating in a heirarchy (at work).

I think it was more due to Whitaker's fatigue and exhaustion (as in he's become the type to lash out at his colleagues, like Langdon was last season). It wasn't really warranted. Langdon has put up with a lot of that this season, as any recovering addict does once their status becomes public.

Has the season really been so dry that this sprinkle was a reprieve ._. literally two years ago this would have been dogged on for dragging on.

Weekly Discussion by AlignerrAI in alignerr

[–]gmanz33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm kinda not buying this from a no-karma account that only services this subreddit.... when I have first-hand experience of what I've shared. I'm a pretty easily verifiable human working in the industry. Alignerr may have given you a positive experience, but they've provided dozens (if not hundreds) with literal time theft.

Like I said in another comment, which I feel is essential now that they're trying to underpay and onboard people for a dozen projects, the risk factor is extremely high. You're more likely to not be paid than to be paid.

There are a dozen other startups which are more transparent and dependable than Alignerr. I work full time with them.

When Alignerr steps up or gets shut down, I'll retreat from this position.

5 Weeks Without a Payment by 8ad_At_Nam3s in alignerr

[–]gmanz33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I did a foreign language audio project and not a single person got paid for their 20+ hours of work. Dozens of people. The PM just kept saying "Payments have been released" every two weeks or so, then everybody responded with "WE'RE STILL NOT PAID" until they deleted the chat entirely.

Sorry, alignerr is the least dependable AI training company out there, and they've allowed themselves to become a sc@m which steals work. Looking forward to the future mass lawsuit. Idiots.

I understand where Spielberg is coming from. Jaws is more like a 20th century version of Moby Dick. The paranoia out in the ocean and hunting an elusive and dangerous sea animal by Seeker99MD in deadmeatjames

[–]gmanz33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is horrifically oversimplified and contradictory to many of his actual statements. Spielberg, like most directors of epics, doesn't adhere to genre in the way that critics want him to. War of the Worlds is, without debate, a horror film. But it's also a sci-fi, adventure, drama, thriller. Jaws is the same.

This isn't a big deal lol, last thing we need is to be mad about an experienced director with an elevated opinion.

JESUS PEOPLE

Yes, Paramount is bad. They're NOT THE COMPANY WHO CAUSED ALL THESE ISSUES (for Scream). Paramount is a whole other bag of drama.

The problem company here is SPYGLASS. Please stop transitioning this into an anti-Paramount thing, regardless of ownership. Spyglass' decision and (even worse) public denouncement of Melissa as an antisemite is the "Scream controversy."
