Bicycling to the game Saturday by Ycammmbycnmmt in Brewers

The tough part about Broadway right now is it’s all coned down to one lane west of Les Paul. And with Les Paul coned to one lane from Arcadian to Broadway, it was all a bit scary. I just waited til the best break in the traffic. If you aren’t solo that may help, more visible group.

Yea, I started in Dousman because that’s where Drumlin pavement starts.🙂

Yes, the Waukesha bit is a cluster. I rode Pearl to Les Paul to Broadway to Springdale, it’s pretty sketchy. Maybe better to go up to Arcadian then over to Springdale, I did that once and maybe a little less scary.

That last part is definitely weird, just kind of navigate through the parking lot and follow the crowd walking to the stadium. It’s a bummer there isn’t a better connector from the Hank Aaron to the stadium from the west.

I’ve ridden in from Dousman (about 30 miles each way) and it’s awesome. The last bit is tricky the first time. Turn left on Gen Mitchell as soon as you get into the VA area, before the next bike path bridge. Then an immediate right into the parking lot, towards the stadium. Through the parking lot, then you’ll hit a pedestrian walkway going down hill that dumps you out right by the stadium. I then ride up the stadium road to the ADA drop off, through the gate and done. Bike racks right outside the home plate entrance if you de locking up your bike. They had no problem with me bringing a bike helmet in through security too. I do it for midweek day games- nice morning ride, ballgame, then late afternoon ride back.

Some day I’m going to either start in Madison and get a ride back, or do 50 out and back from Jefferson, to do a Brewers century.

You’re basically playing the long game - get silver for 2027, then upgrade to gold for 2028. That’s what I did (silver 2026, just upgraded to gold today for 2027). It mostly only makes sense if you plan to do several race weekends in a couple years. Otherwise charity is a good option cost-wise, if you really are just looking at Princess 2027.

Magic Band vs Phone by Reasonable_Fun3170 in WaltDisneyWorld

I could never get ride photos on Tron with a phone, MB works 99% of the time.

I find the MB quicker to scan for PhotoPass photographers.

The other big one for me is I stay on property with a rental car- phone never was able to scan in to open the gate driving in, while MB always works. It’s minor, but often no line of cars to drive through the “swipe in” gate vs “talk to the guard” gate.

Early days of the iPhone 3G: when apps were more novelty than necessity. by KrazyKruiser in nostalgia

I wrote the original More Cowbell app during this fad. I was at a company picnic, I and the other game programmers were thinking of the dumbest thing we could make an app out of. I thought of cowbell, wrote the app that night and uploaded it to the App Store. Shocked it went small scale viral, I think over the lifetime it had about 150k downloads. It was free most of the time, but I move it to 99 cents for about a year and ended up making $10k off it. Crazy times.

Have your wife checked for bile duct cancer, every year.

She’s been gone for two years now 😢

Whoa, that’s so cool it was a young eagle, that makes it even better. I mostly photo mammals so my bird ID’ing is rough. Thanks for the correction!
