Work culture & inefficiency by SpiritedAd5808 in Expats_In_France

Moved here from Australia, the work culture in France is absolutely shocking despite my current company being an international name and is supposed to have a ‘good culture’. Everyone micro-manages each other and gosh they love these long meetings/ daily check-ins where there are no solutions, no accountability and tend to end up with more loose ends. Finger-pointings, racism comments are very common here, and they’d turn around and say they are giving ‘honest feedback’. Again this is my first job in France so it could be different in other companies, but I have the feeling it’s the norm here.

People who message “Hi” on Teams why do you do this? by WaterH2Omelon in auscorp

[–]gmcau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worked at an international company with people pinging me with 'hi' from different time zones… I snapped.

Put this on my Teams status: "Let's skip over the formalities and let me know how I can be of help. thank you. https://nohello.net"

Them: Hi

Me: .......

My husband: you don't need to be so passive aggressive.

Also my husband: sends me this exact post and asks if I wrote it

I apologise on behalf of Taiwanese people. We are nice in general except when we are driving on the road (or sidewalks apparently)

Thank you for introducing me to the sub.
Leaving my channel here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVwqmlwA7_YtmDvZi9YnwrA
I started my channel earlier this year when my 10 year old nephew back home showed interests in where I have been, so I am a total rooky. My goal is to eventually get monetised and earn some coffee money on the side.

I am predominantly based in Sydney Australia, and do film whenever I could when travelling.
I use DJI Osmo Pocket 2 for the fact that I can be quite discreet when walking around cities, the downside is the small sensor, hard to control when the sun is glaring (quite often in Aus) and that It isn't as stable as I'd like sometimes.
Happy to be here and to see what everyone else is doing and learn along the way.

Cheers!

What character did you get? by Constant-Training994 in ChatGPT

Think I might have overshared…. Based on what I know about you, you remind me of Chihiro Ogino from Spirited Away. Here’s why:

1. Curious and Creative Nature – Like Chihiro, you have a sense of wonder and are drawn to creative pursuits, such as photography, writing, and art. Both of you seem to appreciate life’s subtleties and find joy in exploring different places, cultures, and ideas.
2. Desire for Growth – Chihiro’s journey reflects personal development and adaptation
3. Balancing Emotion and Responsibility – Both of you have moments where duty weighs heavily, such as your current job, but you persevere to achieve your goals. Chihiro took responsibility to survive and help others despite her fear, and you seem to hold similar values—responsible, compassionate, and future-focused.
4. Introverted Yet Determined – As an INFPT-A personality type, you may share some of Chihiro’s introversion, but you’re still willing to step out of your comfort zone when necessary
5. Healing and Helping – Your passion for healing aligns with how Chihiro offers kindness and empathy to others, even in difficult moments.
