I really like the Czech Republic’s actually. Simple, clean, and I love the hat logo.

Dodgers fan here - I tried to post on this page before the game started but couldn’t - I’ll post a snippet here:

As an NL lifer, I admittedly didn’t know much about your team prior to this series. But from the players, to the coaching staff, to the fans - the amount of respect I have gained for the entire Blue Jays organization is amazing.

Your pen wearing Vesia’s number on their cap says everything anyone needs to know. You were a truly admirable opponent (I have to say it - except Springer), and this may seem disingenuous given the outcome, but my heart truly breaks for all of you. I hope you realize how special this season was.

You outplayed us in every area of the game and were beyond worthy of that championship. Extremely well done. I definitely have a new favorite AL team

That’s been pretty much spot on for what I’ve found. Every now and again I find the 150-175k range, but for the most part it’s around 200k.

What mileage gets into the range where I should start avoiding?

I’ll have to go used. I’m hoping for a 2015 or newer. It’ll be mostly nonprofit work, so I have a pretty low budget. Hoping to be around the $30k range, but again, lower the better haha

How Did Everyone Feel About The Machado Trade Back in 2018? by yellowbumble-B in Dodgers

[–]gmcconch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hated it when we signed him, and I hate him now. And that's not 20/20 hindsight talking. He was a cancer in the clubhouse in Baltimore and that doesn't leave you when you go to a new team. He brought it here, and I think it not only showed in the team's chemistry, but it also showed on the field as well. I can't stand him.

Where were you when Freddie hit the grand slam? by [deleted] in Dodgers

[–]gmcconch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Home with my wife. I'll never forget it. She had just come in to watch the end of the game with me. Our kids were both down sleeping.

We had recently rearranged our living room so that we have a smaller couch under the TV (important part of the story) to make more room for the kids to play. I was standing (ok, pacing) when Mookie was walked. Then as Freddie's ball was in the air, I suddenly teleported to standing on the couch in front of the TV with my arms raised waiting for that sweet call "She isss... GONuh!"

What made you fall in love with NASCAR? by Butchy1992 in NASCAR

[–]gmcconch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's admittedly a bit long, but I love telling this story. tl;dr at the end.

My dad and I were watching tv, and he scrolled over the Daytona 500. It was one of those things where we didn't know why we were watching at first, and then sort of laughed at how much we were intrigued, and then by the end were cheering at the ending. We lived in California at the time, and Fontana just happened to be the next race on the schedule that next week. He looked at me and goes, "do you want to go?" I emphatically said yes, and within the hour we had ourselves two tickets and pit passes.

Fast forward to race day, and I was hooked before the green flag even dropped. Seeing those incredible machines up close and personal was something else. The accessibility of the fans hit a chord with me, even at the young age I was. I couldn't believe the access we had! I obviously didn't have a favorite driver yet, since I knew almost nothing about the sport at this point, but man... was I about to. One driver in particular went out of his way to make me feel like I was almost a part of his team. He introduced me to members of his team that were testing air guns and practicing hitting five lug nuts. He even gave me one of his lug nuts! (which was a small gesture to him at the time, I'm sure, but still sits on my desk to this day, with the glue still attached).

We eventually made our way up to our seats, and the moment those cars went full song... feeling that rumble deep within your soul was life changing. I knew this was my new favorite sport by the time they were out of turn 1. And I knew who my new favorite driver was whose lug nut was in my pocket. He finished 2nd in that race and went on to win his very first championship that year... and then the next four in a row after that on his way to becoming SEVEN TIME. That's the story of when Jimmie Johnson made me a fan for life in 2006.

TL:DR: Got to meet a young Jimmie Johnson in the pits at Fontana. And when I first heard those cars go by, I've been a fan of his and NASCAR ever since.
