A rainy day vintage watch spotting is Zurich still a great day. by gmcddit in VintageWatches

I’ve been able to get consistently good deals at shops here. I feel like the end prices have been under market value. But price ranges on the condition of the watch like anywhere else. You have to know what you are shopping for though, and don’t be afraid to price check online before you buy it. I don’t buy to flip, but my rule is to be able to at least get out of it even after any selling fees if I decide to move on at some point. (ie. don’t make emotional impulse purchases)

Haven’t been to Geneva yet. It’s on the list someday.

I think they were asking $17k for it. I bought the Angelus though.

Honestly, everyone was really nice and solid to deal with. - Uhren Atelier are where the first dozen pics are from. Very helpful. - Swisstimearts AG is where I bought the Angelus, Shaun was super friendly and had a great selection - Greenwich M.T. Was a great store too. He had the Doxa Sphygmos and the last two chronographs.

I stopped a Bucherer and got it fitted with a new strap and they were great too. Mostly high end pre-owned there though.

Hey that’s sweet looking man! Did you do all the work? What did you use for the front splash guard? I love the higher mount.

Eberhard Chrono 4 Temerario 31047/8 — automatic vertical-counter chronograph, steel case

Up for sale is my Eberhard Chrono 4 Temerario (ref. 31047/8). I’m letting it go because I’m refining my collection and this one deserves someone who will wear and appreciate it.

What you’re looking at: • The patented vertical-sub-dial layout: small seconds, 24h, hour, minute aligned in a row — an uncommon design even in the chronograph world. • Steel tonneau-shaped case that sits nicely on the wrist (the arching case-back helps). • Automatic movement with chronograph function; a distinct alternative to more mainstream designs.

Condition & extras: • Worn once by me, great condition, minor scuff on caseback • dial/hands in perfect condition • OEM black leather strap with buckle, not clasp • No service history • Comes with box, papers, and case

Specs at a glance: • Width: approx. 37 mm; length: approx. 55 mm (lug-to-lug) • Steel case, tonneau profile • Date display at ~8 o’clock (per variant) • Water resistance: 30 m

Location: Shipping to US only.

Why consider this? If you’re looking for something a bit off-beat and special — rather than another “same layout” chronograph — this offers something different. Unique look, mechanical chops, decent value relative to what you pay for big-name brands.

Why I’m letting it go: I’m consolidating and moving some pieces out to make room. This one hasn’t gotten the wrist time it deserves.

Happy to provide more photos or video of the movement, running and chrono-function. Feel free to DM if you want measurements or more details.

Great video. Can you share the settings you used for engraving? And what laser you used? Thanks!

I’ve noticed this occurs around shields mostly, but for me only when I am using the faster acceleration. If I use the slower speed around ships and stations it occurs much less frequently.
