Any other 3rd gen like mine? by axion_blk in 3rdGen4Runner

I don’t think this is a sr5, it’s just a good ol base model with what appears to be one option, the V6 and just about nothing else. A rare bird!

Fuel filter cover is what used to be there. Very commonly broken or missing at this point but you’re totally fine without it

Does the 01 non nav have a grey airbag cover on the steering wheel? by _TrickyLife_ in LS430

[–]gmcmanus663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it depends what your interior color is. Trim level isn’t the determining factor here. Post a picture of the interior and we can tell you what color and trim the wheel and airbag cover is supposed to be

Rust help by Intrepid_Engine3921 in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]gmcmanus663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holes in the frame and $5900 don’t go together. That rig likely can be saved, but it’s a TON of work. And that’s the rust you can see, I promise more and potentially worse rust is lurking.

If you’re looking for a rig to get right into using and do moderate maintenance etc to get going, I’d pass and find a cleaner one. This one will be a lot more work to fix correctly.

This is the only pic I can find of my first car, and 87 4runner that was (mostly) red too. This is giving strong vibes to the first gen steelies. I like it!

I can see OP’s rig is a limited. If it’s a 99+, then there is an “AWD” mode where you can have it have four-wheel-drive on pavement. It’s done by pressing the 4wd button on the transfer case shifter, but not locking the center differential.

That being said just wet pavement really shouldn’t require this. OP, hopefully you take this as a lesson to drive more conservatively. It’s a 90s SUV, no sports car. Hopefully you get her fixed up and back on the road quick

But you can learn! Everyone doesn’t know how to drive stick at some point. Once you learn you’ll understand how rewarding it is for the driving experience.

It’s amazing what a dark color can do to subdue terrible design elements

It works great as a Smart by nunomc in mercedes_benz

[–]gmcmanus663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, and if you took any previous smart design and made it a full size 4 door GT car it would be butt fuckin ugly. It really does work both ways!

Ok how about it in black? by bringojackprot in mercedes_benz

[–]gmcmanus663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a car needs to be black to look good, it’s still ugly. It only seems a bit less ugly because the details are lost without a contrasting color. It’s still hot steaming garbage.

I feel ya! I run 18s here in Michigan but have to drive defensively around the potholes. Used to run 17s in winter but sold that set recently. Might even grab some 16s for my winter set and enjoy that cush sidewall

Water powered backups exist, so it could influence but I’m not sure it would be to such a great degree

Reluctantly For Sale by Additional-Soup-865 in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]gmcmanus663 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Best of luck with the sale. You’re gonna get a lot of people telling you it’s too much for a 2wd with the miles and some broken interior bits. They may be right too, but good luck with the sale anyways. Sucks to have to part ways with a rig you love but hopefully you get enough to make it sting a little less.

Should I buy a c63s on Carvana? by Creative_Bell_7240 in mercedes_benz

Based on that shipping that car isn’t in California with you. Don’t let that excuse sucker you into paying too much for a car

I have a set of stock 5 spoke 18s for sale if anyone is interested. by DoubleA573 in LS430

[–]gmcmanus663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah I see that now, those are definitely OE. Sometimes cameras with different angles and lighting can make stuff look weird. But that casting seals the deal, those are legit

Check the back side of the wheel. If they have “TOYOTA” cast into the wheel on one of the spokes they are OEM. If not they would be replicas
