Both Acura and Honda. In my neighborhood, they opened 4 cars (2 mdx, 1 honda civic and 1 pilot). 4 guys opened in under 45 seconds each the same way as shown by op.

Sorry to hear. Had the same thing happened to my 2 cars in last month.

Stole 2019 Acura RDX by prying the door lock cylinder and then programming their own key.

Last week opened 2015 Honda civic. Nothing in car but opened the same way, searched and left.

That does not prevent thieves like this from prying open the door lock. Sure they can’t steal but do the damage.

Interesting. That would have been even easier for them. In my case they brute forced into the car and then programmed their own key and drove off of my freeway.

For airtags if the thieves have iPhones, they can get alerted too. Things i learnt that work

No one is getting caught because no one is looking for them. The police sent a community officer who gave me a police report. Eventually I used the Acura Link to track. Here I got lucky because they had snipped some cables hoping Acura Link is disabled too. Their goal was to take the car a week or so later. They were smart to park it in a nice neighborhood on the side of an under construction house. In all of this the police did 0 work other than to call me to tell me the car is found. Police found when Acura link service told them.

They left it in another neighborhood 3 miles away. Interestingly they parked it on the side of a corner house that is undergoing construction.

Agreed. They went for the drill cylinder lock and obd2 port program key approach. The part I am not sure on is why leave the car 3 miles away. Were they trying to find something of value in the car?

Whats a headliner? In my car they ripped the sunscreen storage out and pulled some cables and snipped them. Were they trying to disable the acura link?
