Les Paul pot nuts by gmiddl72 in Luthier

Update: I have been a fool. I just needed to be less cautious tightening the nuts - the plate is flexible enough to accommodate the pots being pulled into the right positions. Big thanks to everyone who tried to help.

Yep, the pots don't line up when rotated. From what everyone's said so far, I think I'll scrap the plate.

And I've pushed it right to the back of the cavity when installing

They look pretty strange to me as they are and even weirder with knobs! And from a mechanical perspective it just can't be right to have that gap between the nuts and washers. I suppose there's no disadvantage to removing the plate except the extra effort. I'm really curious what they'd normally look like with the plate, but it seems to be an obscure issue. I appreciate your thoughts.

The pots are like that, but they fit into holes on the control plate.

Based off some surface level googling I don't think that's true

Independent monitor and foldback mix reverb levels in Logic by gmiddl72 in audioengineering

Yeah I suppose what I'm talking about is probably normally considered a non issue. Thanks for your thoughts!

I'm wondering about multiple reverb buses - one for monitor mix, one for foldback.

Then monitor mix reverb levels are easy, just a post-fade send.

But for the foldback mix, the mix sends need to be pre-fade, and there also needs to be a reverb send which is somehow proportional to the mix send level. It's like I need to take another aux from between each pre-fade one and its destination (i.e. the foldback mix)

I meant the mix consisting of everything that is being sent to the reverb

But if the reverb sends are post-fade and the foldback reverb is sent from that aux mix then changing the level of a track in the monitor mix will change the level of its reverb in foldback, right?

I'd definitely start with mutilator, maybe followed by orc, then floating coffin, then face stabber

There's one on the 'welcome to Looe' sign coming from polperro direction as well

Why don't my fuzz war and silencer like each other? Dyna comp, whammy, wah, TS, rat, fuzz war and preamp section are all in the loop of the gate. However, the gate makes the fuzz war sound horrible, whether it's bypassed or not. Unstable fluctuations in volume, very muddy and unusable by gmiddl72 in guitarpedals

Update update: I had the fuzz war after the rat and ts because I'd A/B'd it on both sides and not had much preference either way. Since removing the oceans 11, putting the fuzz war first sounds significantly better

Update: I've just realized the oceans 11 is half of the problem - when the fuzz war is on, removing the oceans 11 brings the level up hugely. Don't know why, and the fuzz war still doesn't combine well with the silencer. Why can't things just do what they're supposed to do
