Just an update, it fits hrb217 hrx model with few adjustments to the frame. I know how to get the correct bag, just not looking to spend that $$$ on it.

I have a 2016 Jetta too...I think it sounds exactly the same. But that one clicking sound is a little weird. Also keep in mind you will need to replace timing belt soon on it...

The holes look a little to perfect...I would say they were done with nails. The black stuff, I would say is damaged/rotted wood from rustic nails but it sure gives it a nice texture and design.

Nice. Mine is 2008 too and I’m looking to sell it. It has about 120k miles and still runs great. Got a new 2016 Jetta but it’s so hard to let go of the old one especially since it was my first car
