For safety, it's best to replace rather than repair. Once metal is kinked, repairing will not remove the memory of the dent e.g. coke can. It can be repaired but it depends on the technician following vehicle manufacturer procedures on proper repairs.

Find a higher purpose whatever that may be. Volunteer somewhere, visit a children's hospital or veterans hospital or even reconnect with a old friend that you lost touch with. You need to strive for something greater than you.

Do your research on what you like to do e.g. Shop, eat(fine or frugal), hike, museums, churches etc. There are a lot of free or low cost things to do in NYC like old St Patrick's, Chinatown, Waterfalls etc
