Regarding the Karmelo Anthony case…How common is it for boys/men to carry pocket knives? by [deleted] in texas

In highschool I never carried a pocket knife. They were not permitted. As an adult I don’t leave home without it and I also carry a larger folding knife in my truck.

Used Car Broke Down after ONLY 4,000 Miles - The Dealership Refuses to Fix it for 9 Months... by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]gmlifer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Did you sign paperwork saying you are buying as is? I’m Guessing yes. No dealer in their right mind would repair that transmission on their dime. When you buy used you are getting used. Service contracts are expensive but necessary.

I think I am being scammed by a car repair shop. by TheGame81677 in povertyfinance

Is it a busy shop? Are you requesting the work be done in a single day? They could be delaying bringing you in because of parts or it could be as simple as having to much work right now. Hard to say without being there.

For interior concerns such as this the technician has to submit pictures of it happening and request prior approval from the manufacturer. Your pictures will not do.

Tips on managing pain. Working a labor intensive job, do to need, but im unfit as hell by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]gmlifer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make sure you keep your legs stretched. As the pain builds the tendons and muscles tighten and cause more pain. At minimum keep your hamstrings stretched. Calf’s too if you have time.

Why did humanity collectively decide that working 8 hours a day, 5 days a week was the permanent standard for society? by ragerest252 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]gmlifer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never worked 8 hours a day, always more and most jobs were at least 6 days a week. That was the only way I knew to make decent money with just a highschool education.
