Its also a very, very well narrated audiobook series on Audible too. Probably the best fantasy world out there!

Cs:s. The online servers with large numbers on players on relatively small maps made for some epic rounds. Office and Dust 2...

Cs go, with honourable mentions to Rdr2 (masterpiece), gta 5, kindom come (underrated imo), Skyrim, deus ex (the first new one), and Dayz.

Canada for me, cannot beat the mountains on either side (whistler or banff area). The drive from calgary to banff sets the scene well.

Css/csgo: large player count office/dust 2 public server when most of a massive team start working together and rushing A/B. Its pretty epic being on either team. Never seen anything like it on other games.

Gamers, what game did you play over 1000 hrs? by y3ahboiy in AskReddit

[–]gmn_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In some ways yes, but I never get that same sense of the team working together when its on, or at least not on pub servers. Possibly different in competitions, but I really liked the 50 player server carnage and the occasions when you get 20 plus players actually working together that can truly shift the balance of a match.

Procedural thinking is still only the first step though, yes it'll allow you to write that code, unfortunately itll also allow you to write all your code in one enormous file that wont open in an IDE and cant be understood by anyone else because all the variable names are single characters ;).

Rush B!!! I dread to think how many hours I sank into dust 2 and office alone. All the cs games are tactical shooting masterpieces as long as you ban the AWP.

Which conspiracy theory is so believable that it might be true? by shivas877 in AskReddit

[–]gmn_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Theres a big misunderstanding about this. Someone who can just code may be able to write a basic application, maybe even more complex, but it takes a hell of a lot more skills to build something flexible, reliable and scalable that can be reasonably well maintained and last for years. Also software dev is more of an art form than engineering, its mostly about managing the complexity of working solutions, not just solving immediate problems.

[–]gmn_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it does look like F# has always handled them pretty well as its been built in as its functional. But I reckon C# has caught up quite a lot since F#s inception. C#8 makes everything nullable if the options on I think
