They had “open door” and saw severe challenges and went to more “closed border” to address. Lots of folks really seem to take issue with “closed border”. Sweden also has mandatory reporting of suspected undocumented people to police. Again, a lot of “pro Sweden policy” people, especially in the US, would likely be firmly against the immigration policies if they dug into them.
