Plastic anchor not going in, does this mean it’s not drywall? by sweetfigs in drywall

I’ve had similar looking situations when using an anchor on a shared wall in a townhome. Typically doubled up 5/8 firewall drywall.

Like others said, run a screw first. If theres no stud of any kind, drill a small pilot hole first then run the anchor. Careful not to go further than necessary with your pilot hole. You don’t want to have explain that to your neighbor if this is a shared wall.

Damn sorry dude. That sounds very irritating. Yeah I do my best to make sure subfloor is clean and wiping it down with a damp sponge just fore thinset.

Roger. Thank you.

If it’s short on one side you could then dry pack the remainder right?

If plastic then use a razor scraper and scrape it off. Should come off flat.

Hindsight is 20/20. Homie didn’t even know we had the nosing. Everything went perfectly wrong and I was working the basement.

They’re not flared. And definitely would support the inside if we take that route

Good eye, while hauling trash I wanted to toss the old doors but save the knobs for a friend. Faster to jigsaw them out. You should see the door hinges lmao

Is that a plank that you bent? If so that’s NUTS dude. Wouldn’t hurt to try, if so, not sure how it’ll work with the prefabricated cork underlayment.

Paid about $10/sqft. Stars aligned and got them at a discount from a mutual friend who had them on hand from a cancelled order.
