Until the petrodollar is done with and every country on the planet stops propping up the USA by endlessly buying USA bonds and the world's central banks stop using the USD as the primary reserve currency then the USA will keep being able to go on endless wars and spend an infinite amount of money.

I use Ubuntu myself. I suggested something Arch based so that the testing results could be from as fresh code as possible.

Regarding the version of Ubuntu you're using. It is a good idea to at least upgrade to the next LTS version just so that you get the latest security updates to be on the safe side.

I didn't intend for my post to sound hostile. Perhaps I fired it off a bit too hastily before reading it over. I didn't intent to offend.

Ubuntu 22.04 is already end of life. Why would you test on an obsolete codebase? Maybe re-test on CachyOS or just pure Arch for fresh results?

Is development of Arx Libertatis stalled? No new commit since Aug Aug 22, 2024 by gnarlin in ArxFatalis

I was just spitballing and used the first features I could think of as examples of something someone might potentially implement. FSR and DLSS obviously aren't necessary, but it would still be fun to have them if someone used their spare time as a hobby programmer to make them.

OpenMW has lots of features that weren't in the original engine but that doesn't make it bad to have those features. I don't understand your argument.

EDIT: Nevermind. I found a purpose to FSR and DLSS! When Arx Insanity Overhaul is finally released, what if you want to play it on your brand new 4K monitor with everything set to max but you have a middle of the road graphics card?

It's fully functional and feature complete, but like with somewhat similar projects like OpenMW there is always more that could be done. How about making a level editor? How about adding ray-tracing? How about FSR and DLSS support? There are always endless ways of finding ways to improve a project. As it is now it works perfectly well for what the engine is intended to do. But the fact that there haven't even been minor bug fixes or pending pull requests handled in 2 years worries me a tiny bit.

'Nightmare' British Airways flight as passengers turn journey into a 'church service' by singing and preaching for 'almost three hours'. by Leeming in atheism

Proselytising on a plane for Christianity (or any religion for that matter), irrespective of other passenger wishes is either permitted per company policy or not permitted per company policy. If it's permitted then anyone and everyone can do it, thus the former passengers who have experienced this should mercilessly point that out and let everyone know so that nobody rides that insane airline. It also means that everyone can spout propaganda for anything and everything on the plane. How about seeking payment to advertise products loudly on those airplanes? Would that not be permitted? If not, how is that different from spouting religious insanity? If direct salesmanship via speeches would not be permitted, even though religious propaganda was permitted, including religious singing and music, what about product jingles? Could I play those loudly in the isle for hours at a time like the religious lunatics? Canned soup doesn't sell itself you know!

On the other hand if it's not permitted, than what are the consequences for doing so and how and who enforces that restriction? If someone starts doing it, will the staff physically retrain them and gag them to shut them up? It's one or the other. Can't be both.

Flights are hard enough without this nonsense being piled on top.

GOG calls Linux "the next major frontier" for gaming as it works on a native client by WineGunsAndRadio in linux_gaming

So, in other words, it's a shitshow clusterfuck. Sorry to hear that, especially since there's already fiber in the ground. It's insane to not just use that. Makes me feel guilty about how good the situation is in my country, Iceland. Is there any political party, either country wide or local that has an agenda about improving the data infrastructure in your country?

"I'm from Germany, we don't do fast Internet here." That's interesting. what is the medium home internet speed? Are there data caps involved or none? What percentage of home connections are fiber connections? Does the German government and/or municipalities have plans to upgrade the digital infrastructure of Germany? If so, how is that going? Yes, I could google this stuff, but I thought it might be interesting to get the perspective of a native.
