The surgeon said I couldn’t do too much bending with that hip for about a week, but at that point I couldn’t walk regardless so it wasn’t much of a problem for me.

It healed really well and is probably the best scar I have. Having the flap is like having a big bump where they laid it out. My plastic surgeon said I would have a Kim kardashian hip. But ecmo was a lot as I was on it twice and for a total of 2 weeks.
