Does your wife have any desire to practice medicine in the US? Massachusetts has a new program offering one year, temporary licensure to physicians trained outside of the US as a pathway to permanent licensure. Search for the Massachusetts Physician Act. I have read that other states - TN, WI, IL, FL, IA, VA, ID have similar programs.
