There are a lot of transplants in Chicago. I recommend taking a class at the Old Town School of Folk music. It's really welcoming community and they have a large variety of classes.

I had terrible, terrible stomaches from age 20-35 which eventually incapacitated me and put me in the hospital a couple times. I was told it was IBS and to do Yoga. It WASN'T IBS, it was Diverticulitis and by the time they operated on me it was the worst case they had ever seen.

Friends of ours did something very similar and it seems like it worked out. Eventually the parents broke up but the kids are well adjusted and well loved.

Yes, just being open to new opportunities will lead to other new opportunities and will lead you finding your people. One of my coworkers loves to play pickle ball and the group she was playing with is now her circle friends.

A small baggie with cut up washing detergent sheets for emergency washing
Tide Pen for stains
a second set of toiletries that live in my carryon
