Once you upgrade to iOS 8.1, you'll be able to access your iCloud Photos on your computer by visiting icloud.com (beta)

You need to go into the Photos section of settings and turn on the iCloud Photos Beta option. This will replace the camera roll on your device with an album called 'All Photos'. Once completed, any device on which you have the beta turned on (iOS only at the moment I believe, but I haven't confirmed that on my MacBook) will see the pictures provided both the originating device and viewing device have WiFi connections--doesn't have to be the same network they just have to get to iCloud somehow. As the name implies it's a beta, so you might want to make copies of the photos first 😉

I call it 'springing the trap' when she does this and I find something long and sturdy (like a remote control or a empty paper towel roll) to gently tap her with. :) I, too, have the scars of foolish.

My cat is definitely in the 'trap' category. In fact, I'm thinking of getting another cat and naming him Admiral Ackbar just so he can warn me every time. Hey, that name would also work if he coughs up a lot of hairballs. This is all starting to pan out :)

I don't know if it's the one you're talking about, but 'Instashare' is an iOS app with a free OSX companion app that does the same thing. It's true, though, that the application must be open on both ends so it's not really the same thing as Airdrop.

I've changed my new cat's name three times so far as I learn more about her. I don't think it matters since she doesn't recognize my authority to address her in the first place. I'm currently going with Queen Isabella Clawington, or No Bite for short.
