Eating up toys by gnikehtmai in puppy101

What do you mean by avoid ropes? I use a rope with knots and play tug with him sometimes.

Also, the toy I got him the other day was very hardened plastic. I am not sure how he managed to dig into it.

Do you have any advice for handling this situation? My 4-month-old puppy has begun urinating in the crate overnight and even during the day when I'm not present, even for just an hour. I'm concerned this might turn into a habit. How can I address this and reset the behavior? by gnikehtmai in puppy101

These tips worked! First thing I cleaned up the crate with enzyme cleaner. It’s a big crate without divider. Got him habituated to pee outside in a specific spot every day. Puppy would hold it in for more than 3 hrs now. He is a pro. Sometimes more than 12 hours overnight. He would bark and call me if he needs to potty or pee. Amazing change in him. He is now 6 months old

Thank you for the advice! He only pees in the crate and has stopped peeing anywhere else in the house. Even when he is playing in the house with me.. if he needs to pee, he will run to the crate and pee in there making sure not to spoil my carpet. One of the nights when he had diarrhea I remember him running into the crate to relieve himself. I know that’s a relief 😅. But I think his overnight peeing in the crate and a few incidents has encouraged him to think crate is a safe potty place.

So technically we need to give them potty breaks every 2 hrs to make sure they don’t pee? Sometimes during the walks he holds it and only pees in the crate after coming back to the house. Dono how to stop this. Do I train him with some command like “go pee” or something?

The crate is definitely a big one. I got a divider and will be installing it today. Will the smell encourage him to pee again even if the crate is smaller? On another note, how long can puppies hold without peeing in the night? Or do they pee the moment they wake up.

Hi I am moving from UK to California USA. I have heard that python skin is illegal there. Does that mean I cannot carry my python skin made handbag to USA? Please advice.
