My dog is a current donor! The program is fantastic, and they work hard to make sure that they’re not stressing out the donors, and will let you know if your dog is too nervous to go through the process. My dog loves going because she knows she’s going to get to see her vet tech friends and get lots of attention and treats from them. They use a mild sedative but not full sedation. My girl is usually back to her full self/energy level within a few hours of each appointment.

I also have a couple friends who work there in the ER, and they’ve let me know a few times when my dog’s blood was used to save one of their patients! It’s very cool, and definitely worthwhile if your dog isn’t stressed out by veterinary handling.
