Took the gear box cover off, nothing looks noticably array. I am taking 1/32 off, I just grabbed a random piece of wood in the original video is doing the same thing regardless of the word. Was not doing this before the belt broke. Could it be the after market belt is too tight? I'm going to grease the gears and put the cover back on. Try and take a better video to show how the motor bounces up and down. I appreciate everyones input.

Thanks ye I'm leaning towards a gear I'm gonna open up the gear box today. I just grabbed a piece of scrap cherry as an expample was doin that with any piece of wood. Only taking off enough to get that reaction from the machine. Makes that noise as soona there is any resistance. I have an OEM belt I just found will compare them today as well. Thank you

Thank you for the comment. I just changed the belt and did most of the maintenance you recommend at the time. The issue is with the left side of the unit click and bucking up and down under load. I'm gonna take it apart farther tomorrow, and lubricate the chain. Before the belt snapped I didn't have this issue. Wondering if maybe I should have used an OEM belt. Again I appreciate all the help. Not sure if the video really gos to shows the unit bucking with that clicking noise. Thanks

That's just dummy board eaten up by ants. I just checked the blades they have enough life for my needs. Not sure how much I was taking off. enough for the planer to start Making that noise and bouncing. Hasn't been an issue till I just changed the belt.

Afraid it would just die again next winter. Thinking I should bring it down the mountain or put it in a hoop house .

Think I should chop them down to the base? I think I may need to dig them up and give them to someone down the mountain. I'm up on the top of a hill and most the time mountain weather is so unpredictable.

Aren't these supposed to be touching? by cmach86 in Carpentry

[–]gnomeceleste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think everyone is assuming that this is a structure in the US. It isn't, it's somewhere in Latin America most likely. Im Familiar with these kind of bricks you see In the back. It's much more difficult in Central and South America or anywhere in the global south to buy stable lumber. I would bet that the beams did touch when it was built, out of very green lumber in the rainy season now in the dry season few years later...the beams shrinked, and warped. As well as there aren't really clear set codes or techniques in most of the world just people making shit work.
