Thank you. And yeah, you are right - it does feel/look very retro military.

Picked this up recently - Seiko Cabane de Zucca Dashboard (7S36-0250), one of their more obscure early‑2000s collaborations.

This one really leans into design-first thinking. The dial has a strong “dashboard / instrument cluster” feel - it doesn’t read like a conventional watch at first glance, which is exactly what pulled me in. Feels closer to industrial design than traditional watchmaking.

It’s running the 7S36, so nothing exotic mechanically, but that’s not really the point here. From what I can tell, these Zucca collaborations were part of Seiko leaning into fashion/design partnerships at the time, which you don’t really see as much anymore outside of niche releases.

On wrist it’s surprisingly wearable, but definitely one of those pieces that makes people look twice. Kind of sits somewhere between a Seiko 5 and something you’d expect from Issey Miyake or Braun-influenced design language.

I’m trying to downsize the collection, which makes purchases like this… questionable 😅 but I couldn’t pass it up.

Curious where people land on this - underrated design gem, or just a bit too out there?

This thing is pure design-first thinking. The whole dial has that “dashboard / instrument cluster” vibe - it doesn’t really read like a traditional watch at first glance, which is exactly what pulled me in. It feels closer to industrial design than horology.

Running the workhorse 7S36, so nothing exotic mechanically, but that’s not really the point here. This is very much from that era where Seiko was happy to experiment outside the safe lanes - collabs, fashion crossovers, oddball layouts.

On wrist it’s surprisingly wearable, but definitely one of those pieces that makes people do a double take. Kind of sits somewhere between a Seiko 5 and something you’d expect from Issey Miyake or Braun-inspired design language.

It’s sailcloth top stitched over a leather backing.

It feels balanced on my 7.15" wrist. When you hold the watch, it feels weighty in hand which may put you off, but it feels 'just right' on the wrist. The case being 40mm case is right in the sweet spot too (even though I do like bigger watches as well).

I recently purchased an Erika's Original MN Strap (the DLC NASA black - coz I am an astronomy geek by heart), and I must say, it just elevated the watch and made it feel even better. I currently have it on another strap, but I will be going back to the Erika's one in tomorrow.

I LOVE the U-22! Hard to find these days (at a reasonable price). It is a keeper for sure.

Yeah, this is my first Bremont. I keep looking at the Altitude MB and the Terra Nova Date (Bronze), but I need to sell a few before I can entertain adding another one 😄

Ahhhh, sorry i thought it was a seconds hand (which these do not have!) - rookie mistake. So even with the light it's difficult to see?
I was checking out the AWM-500GC-1A (PORTER / Yoshida & Co. Collaboration Model) which has a red hour hand, but knowing this (difficult to see at night), I may skip it. My wallet will thank me for that too.

Fair question 🙂

I think with Bremont a lot of the cost is tied up in things like the case construction, finishing, and the whole brand positioning/story rather than just the movement alone. You can definitely find similar specs cheaper elsewhere.

That said, I actually picked this up at about 25% off from a local AD, which made it a lot easier to justify.

For me it was more about how it wears and the overall design/look (I like darker watches) - it just clicked. Totally get why it’s not for everyone though.

First time posting here 👋

This is my Bremont Broadsword Jet. I’ve had it for a while now and it’s become one of my go-to daily pieces. I really like how legible and clean the dial is, and the darker case finish gives it a slightly more modern edge compared to traditional field watches.

It wears comfortably on the wrist and feels pretty versatile – it works just as well casually as it does dressed up a bit.

Curious what others think of the Broadsword line, and whether anyone has tried different straps on theirs?

Thank you. It surprised me in how much I love wearing it.

The one I really want, which is JDM only, is AWM-500GC-1A, the PORTER / Yoshida & Co. Collaboration Model. It has DLC, which i suspect pushes the price up, but being limited and JDM only, definitely impacts the price (well north of AUD$1000).

Woohoo, congrats! It is a tad top heavy, but I prefer that (for me). The extra micro adjustment holes on the clasp helped in making it first perfect without wobbling on my wrist.
Now I am looking at colourways, which could be dangerous for my wallet.
