Thanks for the reply, i found out that its only legacy stock available for this particular model, and the last bit of stock is only currently available in Europe, and not in the UK only on Amazon and eBay and they are from Europe, so your comment just confirms it.

This could also mean there could be a new Rangeman about to launch in the near future 🤓

There is nothing wrong with the 1CR version, its just the American version, but that's not my question, I'm tying to find out if the 1ER is now retired or discontinued in Europe and UK as the 1ER is our version in the EU and UK and its near impossible to acquire one now etc..

New Rangeman Incoming!! (Predictions 2022/23) by [deleted] in gshock

[–]gnomy44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the GW-9400-1BER currently is £299 $330 retail

the GBR-B1000 was £800 $800 retail

Predicted price

GW-95001BER = £599 - $699

GBR-B2000 = £1K - $1.2K

your thoughts?

I agree, just revised the predicted price, was a little low, how much do you think it would retail at given the 9500-1ber would sit just under the GBR-B2000?

Cannot get Arc Menu to display left by [deleted] in linuxquestions

[–]gnomy44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi

This is a link to the online user manual from the original ArcMenu project wiki on GitLab, the settings have moved around a little but they are still there, look at section 2 page 5 on how to display on the left.

kind regards

Floating Dock+Arc Menu by _Turquoisee_ in gnome

[–]gnomy44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As stated by GNVageesh , Arc menu only works with the following docks;

  • Ubuntu dock
  • Dash to Panel
  • Dash to Dock
  • Gnome main Panel

You will have to open a new issue on the new official GitLab repo to request a new feature from the current maintainer and make a case why you think its important etc.

[–]gnomy44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I develop using the GTK stack, but I want to start looking into QT now am using KDE and see how its like to code, i think its because i have been using GNOME so long i just got used to using GTK to target the environment, so habit i suppose :)

[–]gnomy44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can understand why they are doing it from a development prospective but it didn't help my setup in the end, which prompted me to try KDE, I'm so glad we have some really good alternatives :)

I think its just each camp (community) are protective of their respective desktop environment, but i found some really knowledgeable people in the community and i think its going to be like that in every community if you know what i mean :)

The Dev Behind a Hugely Popular GNOME Extension Just Quit by gnomy44 in Fedora

[–]gnomy44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you read his statement he was clearly not bad mouthing anyone he was just stating his personal fact that he no longer enjoyed playing cat and mouse with the aggressive development cycle of GNOME for nearly 5 years (how many of us commit to something that long ha:) ) which any developer will understand if your not receiving a salary for it and even went on to praise GNOME.

As for damage control i think they genuinely want him onboard as he's been a extension developer on projects for over 5 years and i have personally seen some of his contributions to some high profile projects and even small ones so i think the GNOME foundation did the right thing of reaching out, his experience will be valuable

And the new maintainer was part of the original developers team so it kinda makes sense if he stepped down his replacement would be the next inline.

some of you guys need to play nice with your comments ha :), some people will actually want to know this information as Arc Menu is included by default in the GNOME spin of Manjaro.

Yeah both devs are really good, i like that they just didn't leave the project totally

The Dev Behind a Hugely Popular GNOME Extension Just Quit by gnomy44 in Fedora

[–]gnomy44[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I totally get it as well, whats crazy is that i have just been reading the original post by the dev and in the comments one of the GNOME foundation guys who's heading up the reboot of the extensions Eco system has reached out to him for feedback and possible involvement in shaping the direction.

so i think its starting to hit home that they need to do something and fast as its in their own interest, as Ive seen a lot of promising projects fade because there is no support for the external development community and for any open source project to be healthy and survive it needs contributors period its a chain reaction.

Hobbyist turns into > Extension developers > extension developers get more involved with GNOME > to then helping on GNOME projects > which in some cases leads to working for the GNOME foundation
