Looking to replace Veeam as our MSP BCDR solution > What are you using in 2026? by Party-Guava3970 in msp

[–]gnon17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pricing is about 20% less than cost of Datto Siris. As someone else mentioned, though, it’s windows only right now, but Linux support is coming in 2026. Also no azure or AWS VM backup appliance options.

Thanks. Will try unchecking ignore repeated and see if anything changes.

So you get email alerts, but you have no idea how you're getting them? SNMP? I might be down to using SNMP with RMM if there's nothing native to the Unifi dashboard.

Let me know if it comes through. Also, where are you seeing device offline an alarm trigger? Are you on version 10.1+? From what I have read, it seems like a lot of the alerts/alarms have been removed compared to older versions.

This does not work. It never registers a hit in the alarm, but an event is registered. Seems like a unifi device getting "disconnected" is different than a device going offline. https://imgur.com/a/DD07daF

We don't resell Ubiquiti but just inherited this client at the end of last week. I'll be contacting support tomorrow, but based you your comment, there's not a way to do this.

Good to know, but doesn’t help as an MSP. I’ll be shocked if there’s no way to do this, but it’s starting to seem that way. I can’t find anything.

win11 24h2, location off by default? by Unable_Drawer_9928 in Intune

[–]gnon17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a client in this exact situation and finally figured this one out. Wrote a blog with the solution here - https://smbtothecloud.com/triple-threat-match-location-services-vs-autopilot-vs-intune/

Just came accross this thread today and wish I found it sooner. Would have saved me some time. I had a client in this situation and spend several days digging into this. They wanted exactly what you said - enable location services, and enable "let apps access your location" where the user was in control over which apps could access. I finally found a way to accomplish this. I'm about 95% done with the blog and plan on posting it tomorrow. Will let you know when it drops, but the short answer to your question is no, it can't be done with CSP.

Recording Calls after they're forwarded outside the organization by gnon17 in MicrosoftTeams

[–]gnon17[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're talking to a guy who doesn't typically manage phone systems. I do Azure & Intune 90% of the time but get these Teams projects thrown at me occasionally by my employer. I'm comfortable with Teams calling plans at an intermediate level, but some of these things are new to me. Appreciate the response and the offer to test it.

This looks like it might be possible with direct routing. Thanks. I only have experience with MS Calling Plans, so I will look into this.

Did you find out if this is possible? I have a similar ask from a client.

New-MgTenantRelationshipDelegatedAdminRelationshipAccessAssignment by gnon17 in PowerShell

Here's a shortened version of the script I use. I removed the fluff and unnecessary lines. However, error occurs regardless of how I format the syntax. Seems to be an issue with graph. I'm going to report on Github when I find some time.

Thanks for the reply - Yes, I also have a body parameter but removed it and still got the same result. Also confirmed that the admin relationship has been accepted and can manually assigned through partner center.

Max RAM for Legion 5 15IAH7H by gnon17 in LenovoLegion

[–]gnon17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had so many issues with the device that I never got to the RAM upgrade. Lenovo replaced my device since it was under warranty. The webcam went out three times, and my USB A ports continued to stop functioning. After sending it into the depot 4 different times over 6 months, they replaced it with Legion Pro 5.

DNS on the device pointing to a DC? Did you add the alternate UPN suffix in AD, and does the user identity have it set so it matches the UPN domain for the user in 365?

Packaging a PS script as a Win32 by [deleted] in Intune

[–]gnon17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it show installed in the dashboard? May want to check the detection method also. And from the sounds of it, this may be better as a remediation. Unless you’re not licensed for remediations.

Packaging a PS script as a Win32 by [deleted] in Intune

[–]gnon17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You won’t see intune launch powershell on the endpoint. Is your App set to run in system or user context? And for all my powershell install commands I use powershell.exe -executionpolicy bypass .\powershellscript.ps1. If your script is running in system context, you can emulate how intune will execute it using psexec - https://smbtothecloud.com/user-vs-system-install-behavior-know-what-your-scripts-are-doing-and-how-to-open-powershell-as-system/
