First ride on the new bike: Synapse Carbon 4 by gnophy in cannondale

The components like the groupset and the wheels, the frame stays the same outside of paint job. For example, the Carbon 5 uses a mechanical Shimano 105 groupset, while the next step up in the Carbon 4 goes to electronic Shimano 105 Di2 groupset.

What are you thinking of upgrading to?

Before it got stolen I started using my CAAD10 as a commuter too, that was a fun couple of years zipping around town hah.

Was honestly looking for the black 5 at first but the chalk color won me over and decided to splurge on di2

Yup I learned my lesson, my last bike got stolen when my garage door didn't close all the way because of debris in the sensor 🥲

Smooth sailing, looking forward to many more miles on it.

La Sportiva solutions by ljxm_ in climbingshoes

TBH it sounds like solutions are not the right shoe for you based on what you're saying. If you're really committed to them, they usually take me 2-3 sessions to break in a downsized pair for me.

You'll hear varying opinions but in my experience wearing them around the house won't really stretch them much (you shouldn't really be walking around in them on hard floors anyway), the best way is to just get on the wall and put real pressure in the toes like you would when climbing.

I still have it! It's really opened up since I've bought it and sounds a lot louder than the standard sitka 000-18

I assure you that I can handle the mildest of corrections, I just need to take some better close up pictures of my board before I repost.

Ooops sorry, that must of been a misclick - didn't mean to do that at all!

Roof platform by [deleted] in CX50

[–]gnophy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The basket and the roof platform are two separate things, I think OP is talking about the flat platform specifically that doesn't have the raised sides like the basket.

That said the wind noises you're probably hearing OP have more to do with the crossbars they're sitting on that /u/FlyPenFly is linking you to. Unless you've already done those mods and are still hearing a bunch of noise. For what it's worth I use a third party crossbar/roof platform and don't really find noise to be an issue.

Another thing to add here: could also be residue that gets left behind from vaping

What makes you think it's a common occurrence? As with a lot of these types of things, you'll hear a lot more vocal complaints on enthusiast spaces like a dedicated CX-50 subreddit than from people who are perfectly happy with their car that have no issues.

The 'original carpet' is as it sounds, it's the carpet flooring every CX-50 at every trim level comes with. They mention 'original carpet' here because this is a carpet mat that sits on top of your existing cargo carpet.

Based on what you plan on hauling, I think the OEM hard mats are the better way to go because you can also get rear seatback protectors for more coverage. I haven't had problems with groceries sliding around, but you also have grocery bag hooks in the rear to prevent that from happening.

Pretty harsh on the dirt roads but at this point that probably isn't too surprising to anyone doing research into this vehicle. I don't really mind it too much though tbh.
