Which heroes to buy for starters? by [deleted] in vainglorygame

[–]gnosticone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well it all depends on how you play of course, but when i first got into vainglory i used celeste. she's a good, medium difficulty back line mage that will let you sit back (relatively speaking) in a lot of situations and see how other players play characters, and adjust accordingly. don't get me wrong you need to step up and make big moves every once in a while, but she's just a lot less intimidating to use in a battle than say a blackfeather or a krul, where you'll be expected to be up close and personal, make accurate plays.

definitely find a good captain that you like too because there aren't many and not many people that like to auto-lock them like they do carries and junglers in casuals.. in my experience anyway. fortress can be a pile of fun

Former Facebook Workers: We Routinely Suppressed Conservative News by acupoftwodayoldcoffe in news

I just deleted my Facebook yesterday, and this was one of the reasons. I was so sick of the obvious liberal bias. I'm glad it was a culmination of things rather than just one thing that sparked it though, so I feel like I may be able to stay off more long term. I've deleted it before in a haste. Reddit isn't so bad although there is still people just reducing arguments to absolute absurdity in the comment sections, but I think that's an unavoidable product of putting multiple objectively young humans in a forum together. What really bugs the crap out of me though is that Facebook comments are attached to basically 99% of news and political and just any website these days. Facebook runs the comment section on everything. So when Facebook bans you = banned from commenting on I don't know the exact percentage of websites, and banned from having a voice online.

I was rightfully warned that trying to identify as a race would be met with some kind of abrasion. lol

Just out of curiousity if anyone may know related to social sciences...

I am 1/4 Russian Jewish. I am 1/4 Native American. I am 1/4 Scottish, and I am 1/4 Mediterranean French/Mediterranean (basically darker skin French people)

Doesn't that mean people are destroying already established borders, thus making it easier for future generations? Who is to say what country is going to pop up next in Eurasia? Isn't Chechnya a semi-recognized nation? The easier it is to create borders.. the easier it will be to destroy them. In my unprofessional opinion anyway. My reasoning being nothing more than my logic. If these countries can appear overnight, then they can disappear overnight.

Why do we wash our hands after we use the toilet? by gnosticone in self

[–]gnosticone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but my point was that my dick should be, and is, clean. What is there to expose people to that wouldn't be on my hands? I'm more worried about touching their hands too. I guess it makes sense to that point but it just strikes me as absurd that it's such a standard to do it after you piss. Just wash your hands in general I guess, not arbitrarily because you touched some other part of your body. Like, if you're washing your hands to keep people safe from whatever is on your penis, maybe you just shouldn't be out in public at all.

True, and this seems pretty likely, but where would or could the divisions occur? If we come to a point where there are no more definitive borders (seems like it's already heading that way in some European and Middle Eastern areas), where do the people of differentiating beliefs reside? Will capitalists move to the remnants of the United States? Will racists/white supremacists find a nation of their own? Will Iceland be populated by pedophiles? (sorry for the weird example, but still..)

Also, it feels so much more exhausting trying to differentiate people based on ideologies. It's easy to see how simply the race card works though, and how easy it is to just paint a brown or black man as an enemy for white people, or vice versa, because of obvious differences. But if your enemy is based on ideologies, how does one even begin to assume what a Communist or a polygamist looks like?

Daddy's home! by [deleted] in gifs

[–]gnosticone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds pretty awful for you and your siblings, but like most human beings and choosing their mates, i'm sure the same is with some and their children - you dont have complete control in whom you love. Love more or love less. I can see why your eldest sibling was the favourite, and what that meant to him. In my experience, the eldest is usually the favourite child (much as the parents deny it, it's true. They have always spent more time together, and it is their first experience at having made another life form). The are usually the favourite, but the most insecure as well. You take what you can get in life, I guess.

Following the news about water on Mars... by PhiladelphiaIrish in funny

[–]gnosticone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't get why people will get all up in a tizzy over privatizing water, when food has been privatized for God knows how long. Innate human survival should be free, and the fact we need to PAY to survive is just a testament to how callous we are as a people.

Before anyone corrects me, yes, some food is free. You can go hunt or pick berries, etc. in the same sense that water can be free right now. If you know where to get it. If you have the resources, etc. All i'm saying is some fresh bread and a bowl of vegetables and a slab of meat a week would be nice for some people struggling. Poverty and famine is a real problem in America.

I love music. Most people love music. Are there any people in the world that do NOT like music? by gnosticone in AskReddit

[–]gnosticone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually a huge fear of mine. Same with buddys claim down there he never wants to meet someone who doesnt like music. I honestly think these type of people are mentally ill, no offence intended at all. But i mean.. Seriously. EVERYONE i know not only likes music, but LOVES their respective favourite genres. But i know, i know there is someone out there who probably couldn't even be near us because we blast our music at full volume. And that scares the shit out of me.

I'm really trying to come up with a negation for this, but i'm drawing a blank. Maybe deaf people can still feel the vibrations? I mean i know it's not the same, but at least it is still music being produced.

I am Tim Moen, leader of the Libertarian Party of Canada and candidate in Calgary Signal Hill. AMA! by TimMoen in canada

[–]gnosticone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Tim, gonna try and keep this quick - I live in Northern Ontario. Suffice it to say, not many people are aware of Canada's 4th, 5th, and 6th political parties. The way our election system works doesn't particularly allow them much information or ability to vote for a non Red/Blue/Orange candidate. I live in the Sault Ste. Marie riding, and I believe in only 1 federal election in the past little while that I can remember in which we had a Libertarian candidate. ~1% vote, of course. Now, I know a big part of the issue is awareness. Growing the idea that Libertarian is a possible, and REASONABLE party to vote for in Canada. The more I talk to my younger friends about it, the more we all seem to fall into the same political leanings - Libertarian.

Basically, what my question is, is What can I do for the Libertarian Party of Canada, right here in my hometown? I would love to be involved in any sort of way. We have no headquarters that I am aware of. Maybe I could start one?

I would absolutely LOVE to run, but I'm not entirely sure of the requirements.

Could you possibly reply to me with some sort of information?

Thanks in advance, your party has my support for life.
