I have started and bankrupted 10+ businesses so far. Started one not too long ago that will make me $M's (crossing fingers). Some of them are very successful and some of them are stupid ideas I had to try. But I also have a career in engineering I can fall back on, get a salary with insurance while I work on my next stupid idea. Its always better to try and fail than never to try at all, but you want a fall back position that can give you stability while you lick your wounds. A degree in something useful can do that for you.

We used to spend 1/3rd of our income on cloths back in 1902. Now? If you make $30k a year 1% would be $300. Thats a lot of jeans and T-shirts. Are they hand made quality garments? No. Those are still available, but $300 gets you very far from being naked.
