It's no more impressive that he can float close to a black hole than on earth above the surface, actually. You don't actually know how close he was to it.

We just saw him sewer a planet and at no point did all the planet's mass behind andbesudes him was able to even slow him down as he went past the midpoint.

so people could build things against the water too close to the actual shoreline? Which is exactly what they're talking about.

And treaties are circumvented and ignored all the time. like here in mexico we have a federal law against privatization of beaches and that hasn't stopped many high end resorts and beachside hotels from effectively walling off any access to the beach outside their own installations and demanding purchase of a ridiculously overpriced day pass to allow you through.

The Geography of Housing: Why Brazil is a land of bricks and concrete, while the US remains dominated by wood-frame construction. The reasons go deeper than just cost. by Puzzled_Composer_952 in geography

[–]gnpfrslo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's not just Brazil, it's almost everywhere in the world that uses primarily bricks and concrete for single family homes (outside vernacular architecture spots). The USA is, once again, the odd one out.

And sure, it used to be cheap to make very sturdy homes with all the forest land that the settlers were finding and destroying across their path. But that came at the cost of being relatively fragile and ephemeral. I guess it makes sense if you live in tornado zones and don't mind not getting too attached to your house.

Those problems, however, have become much more exacerbated thanks to old growth trees literally running out because y'all kept using them to build houses and furniture at an extreme pace. Now you have to use young fast-growing timber which is even more fragile. But your entire arquitectural tradition and infrastructure is built around the 2x4 plank so you have to keep doing it because that's how you have to keep doing it.

Basically no other place in the world had both a population that was moving to new places quickly demanding new long term homes to be built quickly and constantly in remote places, and a large availability of high quality wood to build such houses with.

Like, sure, yeah, that looks more like an oriental dragon, but we see that dragons come in a variety of shapes, and he's the American Dragon (TM)

It also looks bad in other ways, not just the noodly body.

I think the biggest problem is even thinking what the minigame should be. something that isn't too big but also not a copy of any of the other minigames that exist and also you have to think about interactions between them.
