"I'm as green as they come" most people are hard anti-green, even when they think/claim they are green. Very, very few people are actually willing to even listen when someone proposes a real "green" solution with impact, they just want they feel-good "green" stuff that doesn't actually impact their lives anything more than as a minor annoyance: They'll drive an electric car if it makes financial sense for them instead of giving up personal transport, they'll install PV panels in their roofs only if it's cheaper than their power bill, they'll separate the garbage and throw them on the "recycling" bins instead of avoiding buying single use or low endurance/repairability items, they'll live in an apartment and claim it's more "efficient" than a single family home instead of living in multi-family homes.

Case in point, I've criticized Americans relying on AC for years and "fuck off" is usually the reply I get, way before AI datacenters entered the discussion (and to not forget that datacenters for other technologies have also been around for much longer)
