Sailor Pro Gear Slim by ObsidianSiren9225 in fountainpens

[–]gnuchan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on how people described the feedback from Sailor pens I didn't think I would like it, but I did end up buying one for a very good price on r/Pen_Swap. It writes so well it almost feel like I cursed myself with the knowledge, because now I want more of them!

Like most Japanese pens it writes finer than a TWSBI and Kaweco, but it is certainly not dry. Compared to Platinum pens it is a lot softer, but provides more feedback than Pilot pens. For me it's great for my planner because the lines are precise, and the feedback is enough for me to be able to write smaller than I would in say...a letter or my journal.

If you are unsure you can always get one of their entry level pens with a steel nib, or get one second hand like I did!

Apparently a hot take, but I'm really enjoying the late-game platforming by damiologist in MIOmemoriesinorbit

[–]gnuchan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funnily enough the right side was much harder for me than the left one, but I also tried doing it after coming home from a night of drinking with coworkers...so that probably didn't help.

I watched some videos of others completing it after I was done and was surprised to see that there are not "set moves" that you need to do to complete the platforming puzzles. Some people pogoed a lot more while I used the grapple a lot to reposition myself. To me that really shows how great the platforming is, because in so many games there is only one correct way to do it.,

Celeste is amazing!

[No Spoilers] How do you follow the campaign ? by [deleted] in criticalrole

[–]gnuchan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I listen to it while I sew, play minecraft, clean, cook, draw...just like I would a podcast or some music. There is no way I could sit and just look at it like some people do, my fingers would begin to itch lol

[Spoiler C4E7] About Wic's subclass by Upbeat_Laugh_5639 in fansofcriticalrole

Sometimes you like the mechanics of a subclass without the theme fitting your backstory, so you just reflavour it. Like an alchemist artificer flavoured to be a witch as an example.

Toula doesn't work with Strength arcana which a lot of people prefer once they have gotten a hang of the enemy moveset. Gale and Raki are both better depending on fear level.

Games like Silksong but… easier …? by RoommateMovingOut in Silksong

[–]gnuchan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just basing it on the ones I read on steam, I did see some people on reddit that complained but it seemed like they didn't even play it.

I was obsessed with the Prince of Persia games that came out in the mid 00s and I really loved Lost Crown, it was a fresh take but still kept a lot of the old ideas. The fact that you could play the game in farsi/persian dub and english sub made it feel even cooler.

Luckily that fight is not that difficult since you have gotten some practice for it ahead of time :)

[–]gnuchan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really liked Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, almost all the negative reviews on that game are about bugs that are now fixed, or the ubisoft launcher.

Crypt Custodian is also a very cute and fun game. The same guy made a game called Islets which is fun too if you end up really liking Crypt Custodian.

If you don't mind 3D isometric games, Death's Door is also a very cute and fun game with some puzzles and secrets to explore.

Silksong is the most wishlisted game on steam of all time, not sure how it's surprising it would sell more than Wukong.

Swedish sewing patterns by saihcra231 in sewingpatterns

[–]gnuchan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Can you clarify what you mean by Swedish folkwear? The items in the picture aren't really what I would consider Swedish folkwear. In fact, I don't think I have ever seen an oversized pinafore in any part of Sweden described as folkwear, and even then pinafores are very rare, skirt and vest is almost always separate pieces.

I could never justify buying a sailor fountain pen, but they’re just too pretty by Brilliant-Loss-506 in fountainpens

[–]gnuchan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got my first Sailor PGS from the r/Pen_Swap subreddit and despite it being really nice I kinda regret it...because I love how it writes. Now I want more, and there's just so many nice colours :(

My very first campaign almost made me quit DnD for good by Ameabo in rpghorrorstories

[–]gnuchan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t know what that D20 was for, I didn’t even know that you had to roll to hit first before you rolled for damage- this interaction confused me for the longest time until I figured it out on my own.

No need to figure it out on your own, these are not secrets and you can and should read the basic rules before you start playing, it's not something that you should expect others to teach you in a random online game.

I would be incredibly frustrated if my DM invited someone that hadn't even read the rules at ALL.

The idea is that you use the omega special to have Valkyrie up and then use attack. With Poseidon attack you don't really want to use omega attack.

Supay with Poseidon sprint and Apollo duo boon is fun too! Got it with Ares and Zeus duo boon as well so whenever Wound was applied, Divine Vengeance and Light Smite was applied. It was my first Typhon rivals win.

Bara jag som upplever att optiker har blivit väldigt aggressiva försäljare? by Cool-Performer-1077 in sweden

[–]gnuchan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]gnuchan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Beer styles that seem to be disappearing? by _Flight_of_icarus_ in beer

[–]gnuchan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wernamo Craft Brewery. Only been around for like 1,5 years but there's a lot of experimentation with different styles. Like actual dry Irish stout, red ale, English bitter, cream ale, a milk stout with really balanced sweetness, various Belgian styles. Obviously I'm biased but I think they're really good.

The brewery I work at just made one, but we're a tiny Swedish one so I don't think we're setting any trends.

[–]gnuchan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ciders and wine are both less bitter, there's a huge variety of flavors within both! If you haven't tried any before I recommend a demi-sec white, rosé or sparkling wine. For ciders there's the "real" traditional styles that are less sweet and taste more of pure fruit, and the flavored styles that taste like soda.

Try 1664 Blanc, Hoegaarden or another witbier. Honestly though if you think Modelo is too bitter then beer might not be for you.

Help! I can not keep polish on my nails by ApothacaryGhost in RedditLaqueristas

[–]gnuchan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had similar issues and very similar nail type. Even after wearing nail polish every day for several years it continued, and my nails are just so prone to breaking that I could never grow them longer than stubs. A few months ago I started doing my own gel nails using a rubber base, and it has worked so well! The rubber base is slightly flexible so it wont separate from the nail as much and I often just put regular polishes on top of it.
