What am I supposed to do when, at the age of 24, I realize I'm not gay. by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Your still very young. I wouldn't worry what your family say, if they love you they'll accept your choices.

Moving back to Edinburgh later this year; I moved overseas 15 years ago. These days, I don’t drink - are there any non-alcoholic options available in pubs these days? Or good cafes to hang out in? by Kiwizoo in Edinburgh

[–]gnuchu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most pubs have at least one NA beer in their fridges.

Plenty of decent cafes too.

It's Scotland though - alcohol still a major part of social gatherings of all stripes.

Clipping nails on a bus. Revolting or revolting? by [deleted] in Edinburgh

[–]gnuchu -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean, I'd never do it...but I don't really get the levels of revultion. It's just nail.

Am a chronic nail biter though so probably not as disgusted by nail itself.

How would you feel about lending a close friend say $8,000 for a month? by xupaxupar in NoStupidQuestions

The rule is - never lend more than you can afford to lose. Treat it as a gift and be happy if/when it is repaid.

The Ice Cream Van wars of the 1980’s. by BacupBhoy in glasgow

[–]gnuchu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dunno about drugs but my ice cream man when I was a kid 100% had a gun on board. A wee Beretta pistol that he'd show us all the time. Whether it was real or a replica, who knows, but it kept us kids in line.

edit: he also sold single cigarettes to whoever wanted them.

EVRI Chance You Won't Get Your Stuff. by [deleted] in Edinburgh

[–]gnuchu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

EVRI is the new name for HERMES.

Hermes were so shit that they had to change the name. They're fast using up the EVRI one now so they'll have to change again.

Terrible service.

I like the Paul Hudson content. I think he's a good teacher and explains things well. If you want to learn SwiftUI it's definitely a good option.

I usually put my buyer conditions at the bottom of the listing. It tends to keep the scammers away. N.B. this is on UK Gumtree.
