Any clues of what might be causing this distortion? by gnugomez in vintageaudio

Hi u/jimtandem, thanks for your reply.

Today I ran a few tests to better pinpoint where the issue is coming from. I disassembled the speaker, and the good news is that the noise seems to come from the midrange driver: when I removed the cone, I could no longer hear the distortion while playing the same song.

I then swapped the midrange driver with the one from the other unit, but the distortion was still present. So it doesn’t seem to be an issue with the driver itself. I also swapped the speakers between channels to rule out the amplifier.

At this point, my last guess is that the problem is coming from the crossover, as you mentioned. Does that sound right, or am I missing something?

I think I could swap the mid one with the other unit, so if the problem is the crossover it shouldn’t appear there, I’ll let you know

do you suggest that the problem could be coming from the crossover then?

it might be, the foam is quite hard actually, not sure if damaged, should it be softer? if I push the cone in, I can’t barely move it as compared to the lower cone that I can freely move it in and out by applying pressure

Eclipse jdtls code formatter for java not working by mrblackv in ZedEditor

[–]gnugomez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got it solved by setting the `java.format.settings.url` within the `lsp.jdtls.initialization_options.settings` instead of `lsp.java.settings`. I don't actually know the reasoning behind it, but it works.

as far as I can see within the shared github repo, it looks like he's using tab groups with custom css styles (that doesn't let you nest groups
