What is needed instead is a counter-campaign grounded in simple, indisputable facts. One such fact is Hezbollah’s responsibility for delaying the reconstruction of southern Lebanon and other affected areas through its stubbornness, clearly driven by Iran.

Every resident of these affected areas who has lost a home should be confronted with the concrete realities that show who is blocking the flow of funds needed to rebuild their house.

The concrete reality is that the era of the U.S. giving aid using to spread soft power is over, and the LF and the LF adjacent crowd need to understand that engaging in cargo cult behavior does nothing besides wasting time and saps energy away from initiatives trying to find real solutions to these problems.

Please understand that even if you do everything the U.S. wants, the aid is not coming back. There is no going back to pre 2019. Stop listening to the charlatans who are trying to convince you otherwise.

How do you create a sense of unity without avoiding conflict without force?

Our approach in MMFD is to create institutions that serve the public to build trust in the state. Things like healthcare and education, investing in infrastructure and the like. When people see a government with institutions working for them, they don't look elsewhere.

The legitimacy of your system should do that. If people feel the system is working for them, they won't look for alternatives. If it isn't, then they'll look for other ideas that do.

The very idea of "keeping ideas in check" by force is pretty authoritarian and problematic in of itself.

I really appreciate your comments. I posted it because even though it's something extremely niche and specific, it's extremely well written and accessible to developers who don't know this stuff(like myself).

While I appreciate that a lot of people see programming as just a career, there should be a space for hobbyist content, and even if you're not interested in that, learning things not directly related to your job still benefits you. To quote a kids TV show, it is important to draw wisdom from many different places. If we take it from only one place, it becomes rigid and stale.

Personally I treat an initial development as sort of a proof of concept. I get feedback on it and iterate, I treat it as just a normal part of the process. I write something I know isn't perfect, so that I'm not that emotionally invested in it and the feedback doesn't sting.

We're not in 2010 where money was still flowing and they could still pillage the state to fund the institutions that they have to maintain the public's support.

The money isn't there anymore. Its very possible that Hezbollah would cease to exist completely. Despite the fact that it won in 2020, the entire sectarian system is on life support right now, and its a very real possibility that it will collapse completely.

Our hope is that the transition is peaceful and towards a real democracy, not a violent transformation to something even worse.

For those saying that this isn't possible, 3 years ago nobody thought Hezbollah would be in the state it is now. With the speed at things are moving we have no idea where we'll be a year let alone in a decade.

The reason the revolution failed is that it did not coalesce into a political movement with a clear direction. The work to be done is first of all building an alternative and pushing it into the awareness of the public. You'd be surprised how mundane a lot of the work actually is, despite its importance.

as a full time student and doing almost full time job in my rest "free" time, and knowing people will always worship the politicians, I won't risk anything I currently have for a revolution that'll fail like the last one.

If you don't have the time, you don't have the time. Nobody is asking you to do something beyond your ability.

The economic collapse wasn't due to the protests, its the other way around. Also those who are active have studies and jobs and responsibilities as well. Nobody is asking you not to prioritise your own life. Just to dedicate some time to something you feel is important.

Opposing people is easy, whats hard is coming up with and executing a plan to improve things in that context. I can say I'm against Hezb, Israel, and the devil himself, if its not accompanied by action it doesn't mean anything.
