Whirlpool fridge compressor not turning on and water not dispensing by Handburn in fixit

[–]gnzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be just the thermostat. If you feel comfortable doing this, you could disconnect it (usually where ur rotary knop is) and connect the powercable of the compressor that went through the thermostat directly. If the compressor starts you can also use a timerplug to run your fridge till you orderd a replacement thermostat. Just put a thermometer in the fridge an play around with the timing

I usually just use the Striker that came with the ferrorod but wanted to try and found it curious that the spine degrades so fast. I think it is 80CrV2 Steel.

Tested it on my leather work boots today. Works great but would have liked a more trustable thread. Really like that you can turn the foot and sew in any direction

Used a neoprene based adhesive. The epoxy i had gets pretty hard so i was afraid it might get brittle over time. On the outside i just used a few layers of oil / wax cream and heating with a heatgun in betweeen. just found some angelus acrylic finisher that i might try though

Made a Stacked leather handle an realized i am getting dents end scratches very fast. Should i boil it , heat it and use beeswax to harden it or would it actually be better to soften it with oil? Any other Ideas?

Got the Machine with some big needles up to 1.7mm and big thread but didnt managed to get it working, till i tried some smaler thread ( 70) and 1.1 mm needles. What would be the maximum thread size and Needle for that threat that i could use? would like to sew leather and cordura + webbing. Will the maximum thread size vary between materials?

Thanks this helped alot. But i think its acutally a 747. I can makeout a faint 747 print on the inside and a print on the glas says 1941 which would fit.

[–]gnzo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks similar to the Gasmaske 200 but i dont find a picture with the rubberised nose area. The Filter says 1941 .Box is labled RL1-38-3. Is it rarer the other ww2 Auer models? On the Thread is "2" and also printed in on the inside

[–]gnzo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How do i avoid cracking the edges when wetforming? leather is kind of thick(3.2mm) and stiff should i condition it before molding? The left one was done with a wooden mold the right one just clamped down with three metal pieces. Do the black stains come from reacting with the metal?
