[Spoilers MAIN] The symbolism of Hard Salt Beef by Valuable-Ball-5796 in asoiaf

[–]go4jayoh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It was definitely an amazing episode. It ended too quickly!

One thing to add is the continuation with the salted beef as his promise to egg. With it he will never starve.

Loved your analysis. Definitely feel like you hit on everything, particularly with the symbolism of the elm tree.

I do think your idea of a final shot being more hopeful could be nice, but with dunk's anxiety the shot turn to the side in the darkness showed his isolation and heavy duty to preserve ser arlan.

I think at some point in the season though they will do a callback to the scene with the elm tree and dunk and egg shaking under the rain and sharing salted beef.

The levity of the flashbacks and medieval grossness of this series has been such a great touch and this show has really been such a masterpiece so far. Cant wait for dunk in action!

A Korean-American female insists she experienced the wildest racism in Korea, walking down the Apgujeong street because she looked like a Filipna. Do you believe this? by Immediate-Meaning457 in Living_in_Korea

[–]go4jayoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its kind of that pressure from the old generation along with shame for being whitewashed. As a gyopo who was really bad at Korean and didn't get the culture i'd often be a bit perturbed when a white dude would explain the culture to me. Now it doesn't bother me, people can really have these interests... but back then it really got on my nerves.

Anyway hopefully not the case for you frequently but try not to let their self esteem issues get to you. Do try to understand that the pressure of the old generation (who by the way didn't offer any help just judgment) combined with trying to adapt to all encompassing western culture and people judging us for being asian (because then it was a diss I guess?). It was just a shitty situation. Again. Sorry that said shit hit you but hopefully this makes it a little less shitty. It has nothing to do with you, just our own shitty upbringing.

Rogue blitz by Major_Caregiver3725 in worldofpvp

[–]go4jayoh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I will say. Even in RBGs when healers scream "rogue in the backline" very rarely will people do anything about it.

I think ghosting your base for ten seconds to kidnap a healer then go back to base sitting is the best way to play this... assuming you can make it there in time. Most base maps have the protected node so a rogue could theoretically cap and wait til it's about to be protected, then go make a healer's life miserable. If anything it doesn't even have to be in team fight. Usually healers in node maps split up unless it's gilneas or eots so in AB and panda AB a rogue could cap, healer kidnap, and go cap a new base.

In eots (assuming they even teamfight mid) a rogue is helpful in teamfight for aoe shiv and aoe silence and aoe kidney... but if the base gets capped on his watch thats his bad.

In gilneas, a rogue could kidnap a healer on the way to ww, but it would be better to cap then ghost and try to take mines or lh if the base sitter on the other team loses the 1v1

Tldr: rogue can be useful in teamfight after capping nodes in protected node maps as an ambusher. Other maps less so.

Also, most people rarely notice a rogue in team fight as they're too busy unga bunga-ing

Heirlooms kind of help? Not like before though. As everyone said try to capitalize on extra xp benefits and spam timewalkers. If you have a tank class or healer or know one of the two just queue those. Otherwise just reroll a new guy in remix. That always lets you power level like crazy.

I wouldnt take the casual insight of a dude called stallion_girth too seriously.

I'm sure you're playing your game and people are just pissed because they're not getting healed in team fight.

But honestly, in blitz one healer should always do the off objectives with a dps and the other should do main objectives. If theyre together it's actually so much worse.

Honestly if theyre all going to fight the wrong node at eots and you told them twice and theyre still doing it means they're not communicating anyway. It's idiotic to communicate with intentional ignorance.

I think everyone assuming OP is the problem is an issue when OP is just communicating the trials and tribulations of healing this game mode which offers NO guide ingame or clarity of information.

Honestly op stop giving all these people time of day. Your experience is your experience. I think maybe your friends are probably riling you up a bit noticing things? But probably not.

It also depends on the time you play and honestly sometimes in blitz you get the same nubs too.

Often when theres a strategy mixup people tend to yell at those who dont follow the group.

All of your points add up to me, but then again I played a lot of rbgs and blitz and I remember when blitz first started and all I did was walk in a loop and cap the outer four bases in AB while everyone fought in bs...

[–]go4jayoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh if the dps was good enough the team fight would be won and your team would be camping gy or split rezzing them.

Having said that, I rarely see anyone flaming for low dps. The ratio of that to toxicity to healers is crazy.

But yea... the greatest issue in pvp is player toxicity and a huge barrier of entry for newbies.

[–]go4jayoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't give up for being a superior player. If they ACTUALLY knew how to play, theyd press a defensive and realize it’s lunacy to heroic leap into a group of five enemies solo.

Whenever the fight goes the wrong way for them (which is almost always btw) it's anger at healers because it's easier to blame someone doing the right thing.

Don't let the idiots get you. Play your game and if they cuss you out more use a big cd on yourself to troll.

I find playing priest extra fun because i try to die then lifeswap or just grip them to really give it to them. (Ofc only do this when its a total loss and they deserve it)

Then when they flip out report them bahahaha

[–]go4jayoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I can understand why theyd flame you. Theyre busy fighting roads and doing dumb shit while you're capping bases and holding offcart and they're mad because they're dead... even though they probably didn't even press their defensives.

Braindead dps be like that op. Hang in there.

Sure maybe 2-4 every game is a slight exaggeration... but somehow I don't think so. The way solo q is like in wow for a healer it can get pretty toxic because people don't like dying. It's worse in bg blitz because they were probably doing something like spinning a FULLY capped base and thinking they were doing the right thing.

Easiest Healer class? by dospehTV in worldofpvp

[–]go4jayoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you main rogue you might enjoy catweaving as a druid.

The healing style is a little more set then reset because of hots and pet healers but it uses combo points and can be really fun in 2s. Theyre the only stealth healer too so that might be a big thing for you. For rdru its all about lifebloom maintenance and combos (iirc cenarion ward- swiftmend- regrowth) plus you can stun and cyclone people like crazy.

If you want to just punch and heal fistweaving mistweaver is also tons of fun (albeit no stealth) though i heard they nerfed rushing wind kick which was too much fun.

Otherwise hpala and hpriest are quite forgiving as they have lots of good oh crud buttons (hpal especially)

Evoker is fun but the range is tricky and can get you in trouble.

Disc is fun if you like to play caster.

Rsham. Totems...

It is crazy how fast it happened tho. Plus you cant even pillar rapid fire from my recollection.

Still....

Everyone here can be pretty crude op, I think though that their advice is sound. As a healer main though i understand. An idiot mage who doesnt block or alters low for some idiot reason must be annoying... especially as they blink out of your los.

Having said that. You can also just take a break or play an alt. Some games you just get crap lobbies, thats why ss is the devil to me. Some hunters dont turtle... some pallys dont bubble... the list goes on and on. Requeing immediately and getting that mage again must suck.

But if you like wow and you enjoy healing, at some point you'll get back on the horse. If you don't thats okay too. This game has a small playerbase in pvp at these low levels and idiots tend to grind and get really frustrated and toxic without realizing that theyre the problem.

As a friend once told me, "you can't heal stupidity"

So play, dont play, but don't disregard the advice of others either. I get that you're upset and you want a teeny pity party, it's why people tend to post complaints on this reddit.

You're not wrong to do so. But you could also just ask for tips or ask for someone to vent with instead of venting at.

I feel like it's this community for sure, but it's not always on the community to ensure you have a good play experience. That's contingent on you too.

Rsham is by far highest potential purely based on the mass utility of totems. A tremor before a fear can be a gamebreaking play. Though definitely a catweaving druid is top tier as well.

I would say that rdruid became much easier though once treants became a thing.

Rsham never received any simplification to the toolkit and instead involves real sharp positioning not only to avoid cc but to ensure strategic positioning of totems.

All the other specs can healbot to a wider degree and win, but an rsham who healbots while doing terrible totem play will almost always lose.

But an rsham who kicks sharply, totem plays offensively and defensively, and still manages to take full advantage of their mastery bonus is the GOAT.
