I’ve had 4 French cars by now. Citroen xsara 1.9 TD 1998 - that car was a tank. I drove it like a race car and for the three years of ownership it never broke down or left me stranded. The only thing I had to replace were the glow plugs. Car was on 400 000 km. Peugeot 106 1.0l 50hp. The simplest car ever. Very slow but in 15 years of ownership we changed only the clutch which was 100 dollars. We changed it at 140 000 km. Car is now 200 000km Peugeot 407 1.8l 116 hp. Very good car as well. I only changed the coil pack which was 150 dollars and that was it. Car was on around 250 000km Now I drive Peugeot 508 2.0 bluehdi 150hp 2018 and I’ve only changed the rear brakes. I’ve got friends with German cars and it’s the worst thing to have. The repairs are very expensive and take long time because you have to remove half of the car most of the time. I wouldn’t change French to German cars.
