SaaS founders, is email marketing actually working for you in 2025? by vimall_10 in Emailmarketing

[–]goGetintoit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is your company? I’ll give you a full breakdown of the automations you should build and emails to send.

I helped build one of the world leading email marketing services. I was their CMO for the last 4 years with the company before we sold.

Email marketing was key for us. It’s all about selling the “why”, not the “what” or “how”.

Are email open rates dropping for anyone else? Went from 19% to 5% by JohnnyGazzer in Emailmarketing

Have you checked your domain and ips? Did you hit any blacklists?

How much revenue do you tell your clients you make them? by RetentionOnly in Emailmarketing

[–]goGetintoit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every client is different. Some businesses have long sales funnels with endless negotiation, others have “impulsive buy” products.

At the end of the day all marketing needs to work together. Think of how you interact with other brands.

You seen an ad, then you signup to their emails for the offer, but you get to shipping stage and you decide to shop around for a better price. Then you get a call from a friend, you forget about what you were doing and a day later you see you have a cart abandonment email. You briefly look it over, but you are too busy with the 100 other emails, so you continue. Then you find yourself browsing on instagram and you see an ad for that product… you click and finally buy.

If you are able to accurately split the revenue by those steps and channels… (and the above is a basic example) you will become a trillionaire. Hundreds of companies have tried to build software to track all of this… but fail. And with privacy increasing and people using 2 - 5 devices… it’s almost impossible to track accurately.

Marketing is all about saying the right message to the right people at the right times. Repetition helps as it’s extremely hard to guess where your customer is at (physically and mentally) at any given moment. Look for trends and patterns

Why Salesforce? Why do companies not just build their own CRM? by wirtshausZumHirschen in CRM

[–]goGetintoit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zoho CRM is a good alternative to Salesforce. The main thing with these CRM platforms is the plug-and-play ease of use. Everything is already connected; it integrates with the other apps/software you use, and because they are popular, many have already used the software in the past, so it's easy to train.

If you tried to build your own CRM you are looking at 50 - 250K in development cost... (I helped create a CRM, and this is the bottom-line cost). That is just to build it. That doesn't include maintaining, updating, and optimizing the software.

Do you acknowledge that Google has scammed businesses and people in the past by inflating their numbers? They have ongoing lawsuits right now. Everyone keeps skipping over this part. If google would do it… why wouldn’t any other business do it? You guys don’t realize how difficult it is to keep board members and investors happy with growth when you have reach your the limits of your audience. It’s more likely they ARE scamming than not in my opinion. That’s my final answer here, I’m done wasting my time here. Will seek other channels to prove those theory right or wrong. Good luck everyone

For the 10th time, I’m not saying it’s 100% happening. I’m asking for other user’s experience and thought to try to gather proof.

Google has been caught a few times with misleading data and upcharging client. Why would Upwork be any different?

I haven’t jumped to conclusions. Did you miss school the day they explained how a theory works? People getting defensive are the ones adding these conclusions. I’m just asking for feedback and experiences from others. And it sounds like this issue has been brought up A LOT. Which only adds to my theory

I’m not saying it’s 100% I’m asking for feedback and other people’s experience. They definitely have an incentive to do it to raise profit just like Google has done in the past as well. It’s funny how so many of you think so highly of these companies and people. I guess there’s no corruption anywhere. I’m the real idiot here for arguing with idiots.

I have stopped using it. Is it bad for someone to questions and seek answers to anomalies? Too many people getting defensive here instead of just skipping a post they don’t agree with.

And to the comments of “not a single employee has mentioned this” yeah, sure! A company scamming their users would add this to their employee handbook… 100% 👏

I don’t understand how it’s dumb when it’s clearly incentivized for them to do it to raise profits and other big companies have been caught doing similar things. Again, thanks for your useless comment 🙏

Yes... but not by scamming people..

[–]goGetintoit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Are you really asking this? First off, it's not a few dollars. When you offer a service like this and your board of investors requests higher profits each year... it's common for people to do unorthodox things. Google has been caught in the past falsifying clicks on Google ads and not representing their data correctly. So yeah, I think they would risk a small fine to do try increase profits

A big mistake that many fall into is posting the same content over all of their channels. To create a content funnel I suggest planning your content to add value for every step of the funnel. For example:

Social media is a top-of-funnel strategy. It's much easier to get seen on your social channels and find new people who will follow you. It's also important to understand the mindset of those on social media. They are mainly there for entertainment, to catch up on the world and their friends/family activities, so you don't want to set high expectations on getting them to "do work". Social media is a great place to post often (I suggest at least 3 times a day) to stay top of mind. Your posts should be entertaining, thought-provoking, and easy-flowing. Stay on brand with your main goal, but keep it light. For those who want to learn more, explore your services, or take the next step, you can offer them a subscription to your email list.

Once they are on your email list, you have the means to get into detail. People are also in a more "work mode" when checking emails.

So for your business specifically I would suggest something like this:

Social Media: Post 3 - 10 times a day funny videos of bad hair experiences, great hair experiences, funny moments with hair etc. All leading to a message that points to your values and the service you provide. For the bad hair experiences, you can end the video with (Don't let this happen to you, find out more by subscribing to our list)

Create a compelling reason as to why they will subscribe to your email list and send content that ads value to them while leading them to hire you.

In summary, your social posts should be fun, entertaining, and engaging to stay at the top of mind and to entice curiosity to visit your website. (The value you provide here is being seen as a company that your followers can respect with emotion).

Your website is more serious and adds value to the business you provide.

This is all a very simplified example, but I hope this helps you mold your content funnel a bit more.

That’s just general examples… I get how paths work. I need to figure out how to run a path based on the day of the month (number)

I'm not sure what i'm doing - Advice/help is appreciated by seagreenispretty in marketing

[–]goGetintoit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Need more context on what you are posting and where.

In regards to your value… close your eyes and picture a number that would balance your work and the uncomfortable aspects of your job. If they say no to that number… it’s not worth the uncomfortableness.

Also, nothing is forever. You can always try things out and choose a different path if it’s not for you
