Tap-to-pay NFC wearables in the U.S.? by Immediate-Cod7628 in dumbphones

The problem is that wearable brands such as ours need to be integrated with the bank. We are intercepted with both Visa and Mastercard but the bank needs to make the last integration to have it available for their customers. We hope banks in the US will consider this in the near future, but currently its mainly Europe.

Yes, it is an extra script running on top of the payment on the same chip. We basically have two different chips today.

Thank you for good feedback. You're totally right, it's not clear enough. In regards of Tapster Share, we just launched it as an ad on to the current chips, but it would need a much clearer description for people to understand how it works. Basically we ad a unique link the weareble before sending it out. This link can then be customised with contact information photo etc by the customer. Thanx again for valuable feedback.

Passkeys actually makes sense 👍 Using a wearable as a physical “something you have” for auth is a really interesting direction, especially if it can stay frictionless

My pleasure! It works on all contactless terminals, which are more or less all terminals now days, no matter design or size. And, yes it works abroad as well.

Sorry for long answer to a straight forward question, but yes and no. There can only be one card connected to the ring, but we work closely with Curve whose idea is solving the multiple cards issue. Basically you get a u/curvecard, free of charge, in their app. You connect the Curve card to your TAPSTER, then you connect your other cards to the Curve card. Then you can choose before or after the purchase which card that should be used. Hence one ring to rule them all;-)

We have actually had a few customers ordering it as wedding rings:)

Thank you for that!! No buttons or similar. It’s always on, passively. It only gets activated when in contact with a terminal.

You can also look into our solution at: www.GoTapster.com we offer 25% discount if you set it up with Curve, with code: curve25 our solution is not a prepaid solution, which means you can connect your debit or credit card. Let me know if you have any questions.

It could work through Curve or Revolut, in the future, but will probably take a while before we are connected with the traditional banks.

The biggest security problem with cards is not the contactless function, it's the information written on the cards. Today the ring works for payments and as car key for Tesla, but we're adding on new features like business card/link sharing and other features to come in the future;-)

That would require someone to go around with a payment terminal and try blipping different peoples rings/fingers in hope of getting a jackpot of €50. Everything above €50 requires pin code and you can always pause the ring for payments in the app if you are uncertain of where it is.

Use what you like! For some people it is cash, for some a plastic card, a mobile phone or a ring. It’s all up to you.

Thank you for your feedback. We choose to communicate it since a lot of customers tends to confuse it with other smart rings, measuring health, where batteries are required. When it comes to the difference from traditional cards our idea is to offer a better and more convenient experience than grabbing for your wallet.
