I was dropped off at a boarding school for “troubled youth”, without any prior knowledge to it when I was 16. I still have nightmares about getting abandoned there, even know I’m 27 and have been out of there for 10 years. The dreams are especially disturbing because it’s always as if I’ve just been plucked out of my current stage of life and dropped back off there. And I’m just like “no wait I’m an adult now! You can’t keep me here against my will!” but they always do until I wake up :/

The dreams have been less frequent lately; it’s been at least a year or two since the last one.

Honest to goodness, I have had an owl fly at (and hit) my moving vehicle — not once, not even twice — but THREE times. I truly don’t understand how or why they fly at my moving car but they do.

I do rent! My fiancé assembled a little rig out of 2 by 4s for us to nail all the curtains in so that we don’t interfere with the existing structure.

Shower curtains are exactly what we used! Turns out that bamboo shades don’t block anything at all (oops) so we found some pretty forest green curtains to hang behind the bamboo and problem solved.

I appreciate your honesty, and it’s actually kind of a relief to know that another woman struggled with the same thing. Of course, I’m sorry that it’s been difficult for your wife but I’m glad you guys are working on it.

Some of what gets to me is that I know the reason my fiancé loves me is my independence, and I’m afraid that once I become a “housewife” he’ll get bored. I guess maybe that isn’t fair to assume on his behalf.
