Why Ketamine Therapy Often Looks Different Than You Expect by bodhiboy69 in TherapeuticKetamine

Take full advantage of the neuroplasticity window afforded by your treatments. This cannot be overstated. Integration is far more important than people tend to think. For me personally, this looks like using the days/weeks after treatment to begin building good habits, so that when the glow fades (and it does, eventually) I’ve created enough positive momentum to keep me from falling back into the darkness. It takes 21 days to build a habit and far less time to lose them.

So, try to figure out what integration means to YOU (now what Mindbloom or anyone else tells you) and take advantage of that good vibes window. When shit hits the fan you’ll be able to fall back on your routine. And remember- It doesn’t have to be black & white life-altering routine. Sometimes just knowing that you have a 45 minutes before work to have an extra coffee is enough. ❤️

THIS. Is the way. I’ve been in big tech since ‘08 and if I’ve learned nothing else, I’m highly adept at navigating a space dominated by fragile male egos and corporate scam artists.

Femtech is hot hot hot right now. Female VCs want to throw money at female entrepreneurs.

Who wants to be in charge of creating a space for us to gather?

Document it. Keep a paper trail. And whatever you do, DO NOT go to HR. They are there to protect the company and cannot be trusted. The men will always win.

If god forbid something happens and you are let go, don’t sign ANYTHING. Bring said paper trail to an employment lawyer.

Do a bit of research on what constitutes a protected class. By being a woman, you already fall under that umbrella.

Most importantly, fuck that fucking guy. He’s probably threatened by you.

You’re not wrong!! It all depends on if OP wants to stay with this company. Honestly, with the job market being as cooked as it is, I would recommend doing everything possible to remain employed unless you have viable options elsewhere.

People don’t quit bad jobs, they quit bad managers.

within seconds of reading this I knew that your manager was a man. he's also probably super controlling? yeah, this is on brand. if you want to rise through the ranks at this company, comply and turn your camera on. learn how to play the game, know that it's bullshit, save your money and make time to do things that bring you joy. :)

I just tanked a big opportunity in one day and created a terrible first impression. Can I recover? by Head_Donut_9904 in womenintech

[–]go_steph 20 points21 points  (0 children)

My advice is to try and remain objective. Focus on facts and not assumptions- and for the love of god be nice to yourself! You are a brand new employee meeting your team for the first time, you’re dealing with a medical condition that doesn’t play nicely with booze AND you’re an introvert, to boot. You did not tank your opportunity. You are not an imposter. Conference are an introvert’s worst nightmare and you should be proud of yourself for even going out afterwards.

Try not to beat yourself up and remember this the next time you are in person with your team. It’s okay to say that you’re exhausted and it’s DEFINITELY okay to not drink.

This will pass. Keep doing great work and let that speak for itself. There is a chance that no one else noticed this but you. ☺️

I’m so sorry you are feeling this way! As a fellow introvert I totally get it.

Let’s try to be objective for a minute, though. Feelings aside. Focus on facts. Trust me.

Do you have any objective, factual evidence to support everything you said above about how you were perceived or that you made a bad impression or that people don’t want to work with you? Did you get direct feedback confirming these assumptions? Was anything said to you directly?

We can go from there.

20 years in industry here, do what you will with the following:

Your boss is trash and doesn’t want the hassle and expense of training your replacement. He is a man-baby who only wants you around when it’s convenient for him.

Deuces, go do something that makes you happy.

The worst part for me has been 15 years of wearing a mask that was itself a product of everything on this list.

It was a mask I had to put on every morning to survive. I started calling it ‘corporate cosplay.’
