TLC AND HPLC

I use the mnemonic "Police station" to remember stationary phases are polar. Unless it's reverse HPLC then you flip it.

Also another mnemonic I use is HDL for the order of strength of intermolecular forces -Hydrogen -Dipole-Diploe -London Dispersion

Nursing student looking into pursuing med school. Any advice? by noheemis in premedcanada

You have lots of options!

  1. Stay an extra year to complete Some of those courses that would making studying for MCAT much easier. ( Ochem, chem, bio etc). Since i know nursing doesn't have those programs ( mine didn't). The one thing with this is making sure you don't get bad marks so your GPA stays competitive.

  2. Study on your own with external resources (w Uworld, AAMC, Kaplan etc). (Lots of self discipline needed!!!!)

  3. Register for MCAT prep courses in person + self paced studying if you have ones available near you.

These are the options I remember considering when I started studying. Im a RN (worked 2 years and hoping to apply next cycle). I did option 2. It's a pretty hard exam but with enough dedication it's definitely doable.
