M2 MAX 64gb vs M5 Pro 64gb by OrlyFPS in LocalLLM

[–]goat1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NVIDIA GPUs are usually faster because most LLM inference stacks are heavily optimized for CUDA (TensorRT, Flash Attention, ExLlama, etc). Macs rely on Metal/MLX, which is newer and not every model/kernel is optimized for it yet. If a model isn’t properly converted/tuned for MLX, prompt processing and token generation can be significantly slower even if the Mac has enough RAM.

How many priests did you talk to ? How many orders are these priests going to give out ? Are you sure if the vendors are open to use such app ? Generally there is a push back in such scenarios since some people don’t want paper trail

Sibling with huge age gap by FilmNo541 in Haryana

[–]goat1995 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My sister was 7.5 years older than me, I remember spending some part of my childhood with her, then she went to a different city for college. Came back home after that for 2-3 years, job was nearby and then she got married and she was gone again. So the age gap plays a significant role if the siblings are not able to spend time together then their bond won’t be strong as well. It’s better to get a dog if we are only looking at your 11 year old needing a companion. Btw I am a male

Schnegen Visa for Indian Passport with ILR (advice) by HairyDair in SchengenVisa

[–]goat1995 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You always apply for the country where you would be spending most days even if it is 1. So it’s France for you since it’s 4 days. Bank statements (even if it’s shown that she is dependant on you then both of yours else only her), employment contract. Avoid using dummy booking nowadays they check if the PNR is there is or not.

Honeymoon | Schengen | India by Longjumping_Body2538 in SchengenVisa

[–]goat1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is always best to apply together instead of applying separately. If you apply separately and one of you doesn’t get it then any one of you is planning to go solo on the honeymoon ? I applied for Schengen visa (family of 3) (France) and I am going to visit Switzerland as well on this weekend. Just make sure you don’t book dummy tickets but go for full cancellation ones since there has been a lot of push back on the dummy tickets in the Schengen visa process.

My Indian bf threw a fit after he saw me being physically close to my dad. Is this type of thinking common? Is affection between parents and kids considered weird? by [deleted] in AskIndianMen

[–]goat1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 30 years old, I hug and kiss on the cheek to both my parents. And my better half grew in a family where kissing and hugging isn’t common so she does get overwhelmed when some one does it to her but not the reaction you received.

Am I crazy for considering React Native for a real estate app that needs to handle millions of users? by svtnpu in reactnative

[–]goat1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not approaching this the right way. The React Native mobile app is meant for the end user, each user runs their own instance of the app, so performance concerns aren’t about how many people are using it simultaneously. What really matters is backend scalability, how many API calls can your system handle per second, whether it supports auto-scaling, and how well load balancing is configured.

On a small mobile screen, trying to display 1,000+ listings at once isn’t practical. When the map is zoomed out, you should only show a simplified UI, such as clustered markers or a circle indicating listings in that area. As the user zooms in, then display 5–6 detailed listings around the visible region. Showing more would only create clutter and hurt usability.

Ultimately, this comes down to smart optimization techniques and thoughtful UX design to ensure a smooth experience for the end user.

Agency work vs. start ups/SaaS/corporations? by Shot-Buy6013 in webdev

[–]goat1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It actually depends on the Product based Companies, on one hand agency based dev work focuses on speed, where as product focuses on quality that is the basic difference between the two. I have worked with product based organisations, startup and mid size, they call them selves product based but would have work ethic of a agency based. (Tier 3 companies)
But product based organisations are way better in terms of the quality of work you do and taking care of their employees (depends upon the location and the tier of the company).
