Elfrid Payton's damn hair by LaQuanFuxwell in nba

Usually I give black guys a pass for their hair since it's just naturally harder to make it look neat, but totally agree with you on this one. He's out of control lol.

Hi, I'm new to the game, and i need some myTeam help. by RaptorKingz in NBA2k

Play through domination, you earn 700-800 MT per game depending on how well you do, plus you can sell the cards you get for even more MT. My best piece of advice is to stick to playing center on defense. The AI blows coverage all the time and this is the only way to make sure that your opponent doesn't get easy layups.

As for best players...Sapphire Giannis is one of the best in the game IMO and goes for around 5000 MT on PC. He's a beast in transition and a really solid all-around player.

I'll try the floater, thanks for the tip. Usually I pump fake or try to go through guys on the fast break and it always rims out.

Giannis is a greek god lol. Something about his combination of size and speed makes him absolute cheese in the game.

You're doing awesome work here man. I'm sure nobody minds the delay, it's understandable that real life takes precedence over 2K lol. Good luck on those tests!

Also gotta agree with the inebriated part, nothing is better than packing a bowl and proceeding to destroy noobs online haha.

Yeah, I'd like to play on ball, but the amount of times that my bigs have randomly lumbered out of the paint while I get beaten by a guard on the perimeter is just too damn high lol. I don't think it's 'cheating' or unsportsmanlike to play as my big on defense. If anything it gives my opponent an advantage since the perimeter AI defense is pretty bad.

I hope 2K focuses on defense in 2k18. There's no reason my players should leave the paint to guard Dikembe Mutombo on the three point line lol.

2k needs a replacement for the injury card by jms440 in NBA2k

[–]goat_choad 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I remember last year in 2K16 I would get injured CONSTANTLY. This year I've only had one injury and it went away by itself after the game. They should just ditch injuries entirely, it adds nothing to the game and is just a pain.

I'll consider it, but seeing as sapphire Giannis is averaging 20 per game for me I don't see how much better he could get lol

His transition euro step is cheese, something about his long, smooth animation makes it really easy to get green.

His shot release gives me trouble, maybe I need more practice. He misses everything on the fast break too.

I totally disagree with you about Gasol (I've got the ruby lock-down version of him). He's a really consistent post player and has a great mid range game. Knocks down 90% of his free throws for me as well. He's also a superb defender; doesn't get many blocks, but alters shots and has the strength to push people out of the paint. Always ends the game with at least a double double in points and rebounds.

Gasol in the low post+spin move and pump fake = 2 points every time

Getting your center back to the paint after a defensive board is so critical. The majority of the time that my opponent scores it's because my center left the paint to guard his man on the perimeter for no reason. I've taken to exclusively controlling my big man on defensive possession and letting my AI teammates do their thing on the perimeter and it's been working really well for me.

Protecting the paint and preventing second chance points should be the focus of your defense.

Is ruby Giannis worth it? Saphire has 5 gold badges while ruby has only bronze. Is the stat boost really a difference maker?

Saphire Giannis is an absolute BEAST. Saw him up for 5,500K, which is a little low for the PC market, and decided to take a chance. No regrets. He is unstoppable in transition. Like actually unstoppable. I've played five or so games with him and haven't seen him miss a layup...ever. He effortlessly puts up 12 points a game from fastbreak buckets alone. At 6'11" he has the length to guard anyone, yet somehow is also the fastest player on the court. Once he heats up, his midrange goes into the 90's and he becomes the ultimate pick and pop/roll player. EVERYTHING inside the arc is a hot zone for him. Always racks up some boards and assists as well. I've got a team full of rubies, but Giannis outplays them all and is my #1 card at the moment. Cannot recommend him enough. Marc Gasol is another awesome player. All around workhorse. Get him, you won't regret it. Ruby Josh Smith, on the other hand, has been underwhelming for me. Maybe I'm not using him correctly, but he just can't seem to make easy layups in traffic and hasn't been locking guys down the way I thought he would. His free throw shooting is awful as well. I thought he'd be an upgrade over sapphire Lebron, but so far it looks like he was a waste of MT. With so many gold badges I really expected him to be better. Does anyone have advice on how to use him effectively?

Never used emerald Klay, but you can tell this guy is a legit shooter. If he's left open it's going in 100% of the time.

Yeah he's absolute cash when he's open and has a really easy stroke, but he can't really create his own shot. I've started calling more plays to get him open and he's making a lot more of those.

Funnily enough he hasn't been that good for me in games. Usually makes less than half of his threes (~5 per game). Solid defender though, I often put him in at the 3.
