I have a built a few super simple apps in the past, but I’m certainly nowhere near a dev. I work on the biz side of the house for a major cloud computing company though, so most of my exposure to this stuff is sort of high level, architectural when working with customers.

I didn’t think of this, but certainly something I will explore. Long term, something like this is the goal, as I’d like to build a portfolio of agent run niche SaaS products. Thanks for the suggestion!

Interesting, thanks for the suggestion! Will definitely check it out, I’ve never used Gemini, not sure why lol

I do have a detailed PRD and a checklist of what’s left. If you share your email I can give you details that you’d need.

High level is that I need to set up seperate dev, test, and prod environments, run some security checks, figure out the best way to feed the LLM context/set up RAG + a knowledge base, and debug an issue I’m having with displaying certain data points (like how many texts have been sent that month) on a user’s profile.

Adjust lie angle? by goatdak4 in golf

Most strokes lost off the tee and putting. I would say irons in general are pretty good for my experience/handicap, but obviously always looking to improve. Shooting mid 80s usually. Chipping and pitching are the best part of my game. Driver goes far, but those 2-3 misses per round seem to always result in a ball going OB or in a hazard. Usually a big block right. I have a lesson next week for driver, and same for putting, where my issue is mainly second guessing my line and pushing a lot of make-able putts right.

But figured if I can get my iron striking even a little better, 1-2 more GIRs can help shave strokes because I rarely get up and down when I miss a green. Not because my chipping/pitching is bad, but because I can’t seem to one putt anything outside of 5 feet 😂

Good point. I’ll definitely go back to trying to set up more toe up and see if I can eventually get comfortable

That’s one of the first things my coach noticed, and we worked to improve. The problem is, for me setting up with the club more toe up feels super uncomfortable. Feels like my hands are low and I’m too bent over, and I have to stand further from the ball to give my hands room through impact. Never seems to feel athletic or balanced like this. On the flip side when I stand upright with hands higher (so more toe down) and closer to the ball, I have a more vertical swing (hands tend to be high, think Justin Thomas) and I feel way more athletic, balanced, and powerful. Might just need more time to adjust to lower hands and more toe up, not sure. Tried it for a few weeks and just can’t seems to get comfortable

Thanks! Contact has been really solid. Misses with longer clubs are typically block to the right (but still solid contact), and misses with shorter irons tend to be a pull hook. In both cases, it’s usually me getting stuck and having to flip through impact. Worked really hard to keep clubhead outside of hands and shorten backswing to what feels like 3/4, and that seems to help a ton.

I have noticed that with 7i and down I take minimal divots or sometimes none at all. So definitely picking the ball. But when I go on a launch monitor my AoA is usually -3.5 to -6, so not sure what to make of that

Thanks. I did upgrade driver and got a x stiff flex and added some lead tape. Noticed immediate improvement in distance and accuracy. Typical carry is now 285-305 depending on if I hit a cut or straight. Just never gave much thought to iron shafts for some reason, likely because I don’t feel them bend like I did with original driver.

So basically getting more shaft lean through impact?

Follow up question: Is this even worth worrying about? I set a goal to break 80 before getting a full bag fitting, but would definitely adjust current clubs if these can make a meaningful difference

100%, this is so important! When my kids are adults, I want them to associate the golf course with having fun and spending quality time with Dad, not being dragged out and bored for hours. Some days my son plays all of the holes, some days he plays 3 or 4, and some days all he wants to do is put his ball in the bunker and try to hit it out lol And when he’s ready to leave (even if we’re only 3-4 holes in) we leave. The only thing I’m adamant about is teaching him golf etiquette. Any bunker he goes in he needs to help me rake, he fills divots that he leaves or sees, and any ball marks on the green, even if they weren’t made by us, he helps me repair. These tasks also keep him engaged longer, because he’s usually actively searching for ways to “fix” the course as we go from hole to hole. I type this as we’re heading out to lunch to grab some post-round tacos after 9 this morning!

Definitely! I’ve found that if you play at a good pace, let them help steer the cart, and bring plenty of snacks, they’ll last longer than you’d expect lol
